Quick Start Guide

Introduction

This guide provides essential information for quickly setting up and using your INSTEON Dimmer Module (Model 2457D2).

Module Components

The INSTEON Dimmer Module features the following:

Status LED: Indicates the operational status of the module.
Brighten Control: Increases light intensity.
Dim Control: Decreases light intensity.
Set Button: Used for linking and configuration.

Installation

Follow these steps to install the Dimmer Module:

Plug your lamp into the bottom receptacle of the Dimmer Module.
Plug the Dimmer Module into an unswitched wall outlet.

Lamp Switch Requirement

For remote operation, ensure your lamp's physical ON/OFF switch is set to the 'ON' position. If the lamp's switch is OFF, the Dimmer Module will be unable to turn the lamp on remotely.

Linking to the INSTEON Hub

Step 1: Initiate the linking process by following the on-screen instructions within the INSTEON Hub application on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: When prompted by the INSTEON Hub application, ensure your lamp is powered ON. Then, press and hold the Set Button on the Dimmer Module until the linking process is confirmed.

Device Control

Once linked, you can control your Dimmer Module via the INSTEON Hub and App. This includes dimming, brightening, setting schedules, and creating custom scenes for your lighting.
