Buttons & Controls

Side Panel with Waterproof Cover

Diagram shows a rock-shaped speaker with numbered controls on the side panel. Key components include: 1. Speaker, 2. Side Panel, 3. Power Button, 4. Reset Function Pinhole, 5. Blue Bluetooth LED Indicator, 6. Red Charging LED Indicator, 7. 5V Input Port, 8. Solar Panel.

Operation

Overview

  1. Before first use, charge speakers via Micro USB Input Port with supplied cables and power adaptor. Each speaker takes approx. 6 hours to charge from 0-100%.
  2. The Outdoor Bluetooth Rock Speakers MUST automatically pair together BEFORE syncing to a Bluetooth device.

Turning the Unit ON

  1. On each speaker, press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds.
  2. On one speaker, quickly press the Power Button once. On the second speaker, press it twice.
  3. Speakers will automatically pair. Allow 5-10 seconds for pairing.
  4. An audible tone will play on both speakers indicating they are synced.

Connecting an External Device via Bluetooth

  1. After pairing, speakers automatically search for a Bluetooth device; the Bluetooth LED Indicator will blink slowly.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your external device.
  3. Select "The Rock" on your device to pair. An audible beep signifies pairing, and the Bluetooth LED indicator will remain solid Blue.
  4. Begin playing music.

Note: Familiarize yourself with your device's Bluetooth capabilities. Obstacles can reduce operational range. Keep unit away from other electronic devices that may cause interference. If prompted for a password or PIN, enter "0000."

Turning the Unit OFF

  1. Press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds to turn OFF both speakers.

NOTE: Speakers enter standby mode automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Battery Charging

  1. Recharge the internal battery by inserting the supplied Micro USB Cable into the DC 5V Input port. Connect the other end to a PC or the included 5V, 2A power adaptor. The Red Charging LED indicator remains lit while charging. It turns Blue when charging is complete. Charging takes 5-6 hours.

Note: If the unit has been unused for a long period, the battery may be in "sleep mode." To initialize, charge for longer than 6 hours but DO NOT exceed 24 hours. Battery life varies with operation; loud music drains battery faster.

Caution: The built-in rechargeable battery is not replaceable. Do not remove, replace, throw in trash/fire, or dispose of in standard garbage disposal sites. Dispose of device at available Battery Recycling Sites after fully discharging. Failure to do so may violate local disposal laws and regulations. Refer to local regulations for proper battery disposal.

Solar Charging

  1. Place the Rock Speaker facing upwards in direct sunlight.
  2. The internal battery will begin to charge when the solar panel detects enough sunlight.

Note:

  1. Fully charging on solar power alone may take 15+ hours depending on weather. The Charging LED Indicator turns from Red to Blue when charging is complete.
  2. Solar panel charges best in direct sunlight but can also charge in non-direct sunlight (e.g., cloudy weather).
  3. It is recommended to fully charge via USB and allow solar panels to keep speakers charged while in use outdoors.

Troubleshooting

1) Static Disturbance

If sound quality issues occur (distortion, intermittent breaks, interference, unclear sound), speakers may be out of the required Bluetooth frequency range. All devices (Bluetooth device and both speakers) MUST be within a 33-foot range. To resolve, move devices closer to be within the required Bluetooth range.

Diagram shows three 33ft measurements indicating the required Bluetooth range between two speakers and a device.

2) Only One Speaker is Connected

If sound plays from only one speaker, the initial Bluetooth connection may have failed or speakers were not given enough time to pair. To resolve: turn OFF both speakers and your Bluetooth device. After a few moments, turn ON speakers and allow 5-10 seconds for them to pair. Once the audible tone plays, reconnect your speakers to your Bluetooth device. Both speakers should connect and play music.

Illustrations show typical Bluetooth connection interfaces on a Mac and a PC, indicating device pairing and connection status.

3) Static Playback from Laptop

If sound quality issues occur (distortion, intermittent breaks, interference, unclear sound), the Bluetooth Connection Window on your device may be causing interference. Close the Bluetooth Connection Window on your Mac or PC. Continue playing music; sound quality should return to normal.

4) To Reset the Speakers

If the Outdoor Bluetooth Rock Speaker is malfunctioning, turn OFF the speaker for a few minutes, then turn it back ON. If it continues to malfunction, use a paperclip to press the Reset Function Pinhole on the Side Panel. This will reset the speaker to its original factory settings. Refer to the Buttons and Controls Diagram on Page 3.

5) Waterproof Resistance

Each speaker has an IPX4 waterproof level, meaning they work in splashing conditions (e.g., near sprinklers, pools, or outdoor areas where splashing occurs). DO NOT fully submerge the speakers into any liquid. If the product becomes significantly wet, thoroughly dry the speaker before use.
