2. Preparing the Omni C20
This section guides you through the initial setup and preparation of your robot.
2.1 Important Tips Before First Use
- A. Clear the Floor: Remove power cables and small objects like socks, toys, slippers, towels, or scales that could get tangled in the robot.
- B. Carpet Edges: Fold the fringed edges of carpets to prevent the robot from getting tangled. Avoid cleaning high-pile carpets or carpets thicker than 0.98 in / 25 mm, as this may cause malfunctions.
- C. Mapping Preparation: It is highly recommended to place physical barriers in front of fireplaces and certain areas (e.g., vents) that could be damaged if the robot enters them. For future use, set up virtual boundaries in the eufy app to prevent the robot from falling down stairs.
- D. Water Avoidance: Avoid vacuuming large amounts of water, as this can damage the appliance.
- E. Low Obstacles: The robot may climb onto objects less than 0.7 in / 18 mm high. Remove these objects if possible.
- F. Drop Sensors: Drop sensors prevent the robot from falling down stairs and steep slopes in most cases. The sensors are less effective when dirty or used on carpeted/reflective floors.
2.2 Installing the All-in-One Station
- Place the station in a location with a strong Wi-Fi signal and easy robot access. It is recommended to place it against a wall on a hard, flat surface. Ensure adequate clearance: 1.6 ft / 0.5 m on both sides and 4.9 ft / 1.5 m in front.
- Connect the station to a wall outlet. The LED ring on the clean water tank will light up red when the station is connected to AC power, indicating the tank needs to be filled with water.
Always keep the docking station connected to ensure the infrared connection between the robot and the station; otherwise, the robot will not return automatically.
2.3 Charging Your Robot
- Before use, remove any foam blocks, stickers, and protective films from the front and rear of the robot.
- Connect the robot to the base station. The robot will automatically power on.
Ensure the robot is fully charged before use. You will hear a "charging" voice prompt upon successful docking.
3. Using the Omni C20
This section covers the operation of your Omni C20 robot, primarily through the eufy app.
Note: User interface images are for illustration purposes only. Actual display content may vary depending on the software version.
It is recommended to control the robot via the eufy app to enjoy all available features.
Before you begin, ensure:
- Your smartphone runs iOS 11.0 (or later) or Android 8.0 (or later).
- A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal is enabled on your wireless router.
3.1 Download the App
- Download the app from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices), or by clicking the provided link.
- Open the app and create a user account.
- Tap the "Add Device" / "+" icon to add your robot to your eufy account.
- Follow the in-app instructions to set up the Wi-Fi connection.
Once successfully connected, you can control the robot through the app. The app allows you to select cleaning modes, set desired suction power, schedule cleanings, view device status, receive notifications, and access additional features. If the robot gets stuck, tap "Find My Robot" in the app to locate it.
3.2 Resetting the Wi-Fi Connection
If you encounter issues connecting the robot to the eufy app, try resetting the Wi-Fi connection. Press and hold both the Power button and the Charging button simultaneously for 3 seconds until you hear a prompt. You will hear a voice prompt indicating the Wi-Fi connection has been reset, and the robot's LED indicator will flash white rapidly. You can then follow the in-app instructions to re-establish the Wi-Fi connection.
3.3 Mapping
This feature helps the robot efficiently learn your home's layout for thorough and organized cleaning. By creating a detailed floor plan, your robot can navigate and clean accurately. To maximize mapping efficiency and accuracy, follow these steps:
- Open All Doors: Ensure all doors within the cleaning area are open to allow the robot unobstructed access for mapping.
- Define Restricted Areas: If there are zones you do not want the robot to enter, use physical barriers to block them. This improves mapping accuracy and prevents the robot from accessing unintended areas. After mapping, you can remove physical barriers and set up restricted zones in the app.
- Remove Obstacles: Clear any objects like toys, cables, or small furniture that might obstruct the robot's path or get caught in its brushes. This allows the robot to move freely and map the area without interruption.
- Do Not Move the Base Station: Once the floor plan is created, avoid moving the base station. The robot uses it as a reference point for navigation and mapping. Moving it may disrupt the floor plan's accuracy.
3.4 Setting Up No-Go Zones and No Mop Zones
Using the eufy app, you can designate "No-Go Zones" or "No Mop Zones" as restricted areas. This eliminates the need for physical barriers like boundary strips. This feature is solely for segmenting cleaning zones, not for isolating hazardous areas.
3.5 Scheduled Cleaning
You can schedule the robot to start cleaning at a specific time using the eufy app. The app allows you to set times and customize cleaning schedules from Sunday to Saturday.
3.6 Selecting a Cleaning Mode
You can start, pause, or select a cleaning mode via the eufy app.
3.6.1 Auto Cleaning Mode
Tap the "Start" button in the eufy app to enable Auto Cleaning mode. Upon starting, the robot will depart from the base station and automatically determine its cleaning path. It first cleans the edges, then moves in a Z-pattern for complete coverage. After the cleaning cycle is finished, the robot will automatically return to the docking station to recharge.
To pause cleaning, press the robot's power button.
3.6.2 Room Cleaning
In this mode, your home is automatically divided into multiple rooms for cleaning via the eufy app. You can also customize room settings within the app. The robot will only clean the selected rooms and then return to the Omni station after cleaning.
Enable Room Cleaning mode only after the robot has completed mapping. It is recommended for the robot to start from the Omni station to begin room cleaning.
3.6.3 Zone Cleaning
In this mode, you can set a cleaning zone and customize its size via the eufy app. The robot will clean only the selected zone.
3.7 Selecting a Suction Level
In the eufy app, choose a suction level according to your needs: Quiet, Standard (Default), Turbo, and Max. The next time the robot starts cleaning, it will use the suction level you previously selected.
Note: If you have pets or children at home, it is recommended to select a higher suction level. You can also select the BoostIQ™ feature in the eufy app according to your needs. The robot automatically activates BoostIQ™ when it detects a carpet during cleaning to ensure optimal cleaning. BoostIQ™ is ideal for cleaning thicker carpets. If the vacuuming noise caused by BoostIQ™ bothers you, you can disable this feature.
4. Using the Mopping System
Note: User interface images are for illustration purposes only. Actual display content may vary depending on the software version.
- Start cleaning. The robot will automatically vacuum and mop. During mopping, you can choose between two water levels in the eufy app.
Vacuum-only and mop-only modes are also available in the eufy app.
- Regularly empty and clean the dirty water tank to prevent mold or unpleasant odors. Refer to the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section of this User Manual for instructions on cleaning the dirty water tank.
