- Do not turn the volume so high that you cannot hear what is around you.
- Use caution or temporarily discontinue use in potentially hazardous situations.
- Excessive sound pressure from headphones can cause hearing loss.
- Using headphones in both ears is not recommended while driving, as it may be illegal in some areas.
- For safety reasons, avoid distractions from music or phone calls while driving or in potentially hazardous environments.

- Do not expose headphones to excessive heat.

- Risk of explosion if battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace battery only with the same or equivalent type.
- The charging slot cover must be closed to achieve the specified IP rating.
- Disposing of a battery in fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting a battery, may result in an explosion.
- Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- Leaving a battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

3 Getting Started
Charging the battery
Charging Case
Connect the USB-C cable to the charging case and the other end to a power socket.
Note:
- Before use, place the earbuds in the charging case and charge the battery for 2 hours for optimal capacity and battery life.
- Use only the original USB-C charging cable to avoid damage.
- End calls before charging. The earbuds will turn off when plugged into the charger.
- If the headset is not used for a long time, the rechargeable battery level will drop. To prevent the level from dropping, charge it fully at least once every three months.
Earbuds
Remove the earbuds from the charging case and peel off the protective stickers.
Place the earbuds into the charging case, close the cover, and they will start charging.
Recommendation:
- A full charge using the USB cable typically takes 2 hours (for earbuds or charging case).
The charging case serves as a portable backup battery for charging the earbuds. When the charging case is fully charged, it can fully charge the earbuds 3 times.
3.1 How to Wear
Inserting the earbuds
- Check the left or right orientation of the earbuds for your ear.
- Insert the earbuds into your ears and rotate them slightly until they fit securely.
3.2 First-time Pairing of Earbuds with a Bluetooth Device
- Ensure the earbuds are fully charged and turned off.
- Open the charging case lid. Remove the earbuds from the case.
On both earbuds, the LED indicator light will alternately flash white and blue. This indicates the earbuds are now in pairing mode and ready to pair with a Bluetooth device (e.g., mobile phone).
- On your Bluetooth device, turn on the Bluetooth function.
- Pair the earbuds with your Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device's user manual.
Note: If the earbuds do not find any previously connected Bluetooth device after being turned on, they will automatically switch to pairing mode.
3.3 Pairing Earbuds with Another Bluetooth Device
To pair the earbuds with another Bluetooth device, put them into pairing mode by pressing the MFB button on both earbuds, hold for 5 seconds, and place them back into the charging case.
The following example shows how to pair the earbuds with a Bluetooth device:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your device and select Philips TAT1138.
- If prompted, enter the earbuds' password "0000" (four zeros). The password is not required for devices with Bluetooth version 3.0 or higher.
Single Earbud to Ear (Mono Mode)
To use an earbud in mono mode, remove either the right or left earbud from the charging case. The earbud will turn on automatically.
Note:
- Voice assistant is disabled in mono mode.
- Remove the second earbud from the charging case, and they will automatically pair with each other.
Note: The earbuds store up to 4 paired devices. If you try to pair more than 4 devices, the first paired device will be replaced by the new one.
4 Using the Earbuds
Connecting Earbuds to a Bluetooth Device
- Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device.
- Remove the earbuds from the charging case.
The blue LED indicator light flashes. The earbuds will search for the last connected Bluetooth device and automatically connect to it. If the last connected device is not available, the earbuds will enter pairing mode.
Recommendation:
- The earbuds cannot connect to more than 1 device simultaneously. If you have two paired Bluetooth devices, enable Bluetooth only on the device you want to connect to.
- If you turn on Bluetooth on a device after turning on the earbuds, you may need to go to the Bluetooth menu on the device and connect the earbuds manually.
Note:
- If the earbuds do not connect to a Bluetooth device within 3 minutes, they will automatically turn off to save battery.
- Connection may not be automatic on some Bluetooth devices. In such cases, you need to go to the Bluetooth menu on the device and connect the earbuds manually.
