1. Important Safety Instructions
Hearing Protection
❗ Danger
To avoid hearing damage, limit the time you use the headphones at high volume and set the volume to a safe level. The higher the volume, the shorter the listening time.
Always follow these instructions when using headphones:
- Use headphones to listen at a reasonable volume, and for a reasonable duration.
- Be careful not to continuously increase the volume as your hearing adjusts.
- Do not increase the volume so much that you cannot hear what is happening around you.
- Be cautious or temporarily stop using the device in potentially dangerous situations.
- Excessive sound pressure from headphones can cause hearing loss.
- Using headphones in both ears while driving is not recommended and may be illegal in some areas.
- For your safety, avoid being distracted by music or phone calls while in traffic or in other potentially dangerous environments.
General Information
⚠️ Caution
To avoid damage or malfunction:
- Do not expose the headphones to excessive heat.
- Do not drop the headphones.
- The headphones must not be exposed to dripping or splashing. (See IP rating for this product)
- Do not allow the headphones to be submerged in water.
- Do not charge the headphones if the plug or socket is wet.
- Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia, benzene, or abrasives.
- If cleaning the product is necessary, use a soft cloth, possibly moistened with a minimal amount of water or mild soap.
- The integrated battery must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire, or the like.
- There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced improperly. Replace the battery only with the same or an equivalent battery.
- To achieve the specified IP rating, the charging port must be closed.
- Disposing of a battery in fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting the battery, can result in an explosion.
- Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding condition can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- To avoid fire hazard, the equipment is supplied only from an external power source whose output must comply with PS1 (with an output capacity of less than 15 W).
Operating and Storage Temperatures, and Air Humidity
- Store the product in places with temperatures between -20°C and 50°C, and up to 90% relative humidity.
- Use the product in places with temperatures between 0°C and 45°C, and up to 90% relative humidity.
- Battery life may be shorter when used at high or low temperatures.
- If the battery is replaced with an incorrect battery, there is a risk of serious damage to the headphones and battery (for example, in the case of some types of lithium batteries).

3. Getting Started
Charge the Battery
Charging Case
Connect one end of the USB cable to the charging case and the other end to a power source.
Note:
- Before first use, place the earbuds in the charging case and charge the battery for 2 hours for optimal capacity and battery life.
- Use only the original Type-C USB charging cable to avoid potential damage.
- Finish your call before charging the earbuds. When placed in the charging case, the earbuds will also turn off.
- If the earbuds with microphone are not used for a long time, the rechargeable battery will start to lose its charge. To avoid this loss, fully charge the battery at least once every three months.
Tip: The charging case serves as a portable backup battery for charging the earbuds. When the charging case is fully charged, it supports 3 full earbud charges.
Earbuds
Remove the earbuds and peel off the insulating stickers.
Place the earbuds in the charging case and close the lid; the charging process for the earbuds will begin.
Tip: Fully charging usually takes 2 hours (for the earbuds or the charging case) using the USB cable.
How to Wear
Insert the Earbuds
- Check the left or right orientation of the earbuds.
- Insert the earbuds into your ears and gently rotate them until they fit securely.
Pairing Earbuds with a Bluetooth Device for the First Time
- Ensure the earbuds are fully charged and turned off.
- Open the charging case lid. Remove the earbuds.
➡️ The white and blue LED lights flash alternately on both earbuds.
➡️ The earbuds are now in pairing mode and ready to pair with a Bluetooth device (e.g., a mobile phone).
- Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device.
- Pair the earbuds with your Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device's user manual.
Note: After turning on, if the earbuds cannot find previously connected Bluetooth devices, they will automatically switch to pairing mode.
4. Using Your Earbuds
Connect Your Earbuds to a Bluetooth Device
- Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device.
- Remove the earbuds from the charging case.
➡️ The blue LED indicator flashes.
➡️ The earbuds will search for the last connected Bluetooth device and connect automatically. If the last connected device is not available, the earbuds will enter pairing mode.
Tip:
- The earbuds cannot connect to more than 1 device simultaneously. If you have two paired Bluetooth devices, enable Bluetooth only for the device you wish to connect to.
- If you turn on the Bluetooth function of your Bluetooth device after turning on the earbuds, you must browse the device's Bluetooth menu and manually connect the earbuds to the device.
Note:
- If the earbuds do not connect to any Bluetooth device within 3 minutes, they will automatically turn off to save battery life.
- On some Bluetooth devices, the connection may not be automatic. In this case, you must browse your device's Bluetooth menu and manually connect the earbuds to the Bluetooth device.

5. Resetting Your Earbuds
If you encounter problems with pairing or connecting, follow this procedure to restore the earbuds to factory settings:
- On your Bluetooth device, go to the Bluetooth menu and remove "Philips TAT1138" from the device list.
- Turn off the Bluetooth function of your Bluetooth device.
- Remove the earbuds from the charging case, press the button once, then press and hold for 5 seconds.
- Place the earbuds back into the charging case.
- Follow the steps in "Using Your Earbuds - Connect Your Earbuds to a Bluetooth Device".
- To pair the earbuds with your Bluetooth device, select "Philips TAT1138".

Disposal of Old Product and Batteries
Your product is designed and manufactured with high-quality materials and components, which can be recycled and reused. This symbol on the product means it is covered by the European Directive 2012/19/EU. This symbol means the product contains a built-in rechargeable battery covered by the European Directive 2013/56/EU, which cannot be disposed of with normal household waste. We strongly advise you to take the product to an official collection center, or to a Philips service center so that a professional can remove the rechargeable battery. Familiarize yourself with the separate collection system for electrical and electronic waste and rechargeable batteries in your local area. Follow local rules and never dispose of the product and rechargeable batteries together with your normal household waste. Proper disposal of old products and rechargeable batteries helps prevent negative consequences for the environment and human health.
Removing the Built-in Battery
If your country does not have a system for collecting/recycling electronic devices, you can protect the environment by removing and recycling the battery before discarding the headphones in the trash.
- Before removing the battery, ensure the earbuds are disconnected from the charging case.
- Before removing the battery, ensure the charging stand is disconnected from the USB charging cable.

Environmental Information
All unnecessary packaging has been omitted. We have tried to make the packaging easily separable into three materials: cardboard (box), polystyrene foam (buffer), and polyethylene (bags, protective polyethylene sheet). Your system consists of materials that can be recycled and reused, provided they are disassembled by a specialized company. Please adhere to local regulations for the disposal of packaging materials, used batteries, and old equipment.

9. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
My Bluetooth headphones do not turn on.
The battery level is low. Charge your headphones.
I cannot pair my Bluetooth headphones with my Bluetooth device.
Bluetooth is turned off. Enable the Bluetooth option on your Bluetooth device and turn on the Bluetooth device before turning on your headphones.
Pairing is not possible.
- Place both earbuds in the charging case.
- Ensure you have disabled Bluetooth options on any previously connected Bluetooth device.
- On your Bluetooth device, delete "Philips TAT1138" from the Bluetooth device list.
- Pair the earbuds (refer to the 'Pairing Earbuds with a Bluetooth Device for the First Time' section on page 6).
My Bluetooth device cannot find the headphones.
- The headphones may be connected to a previously paired device. Turn off the paired device or move it out of Bluetooth range.
- Pairing may have been reset, or the earbuds were previously paired with another device. Re-pair the earbuds with your Bluetooth device as described in the user manual (refer to 'Pairing Earbuds with a Bluetooth Device for the First Time' on page 6).
My Bluetooth headphones are connected to the Bluetooth stereo function on my mobile phone, but music only plays on the mobile phone speaker.
Refer to your mobile phone's user manual. Select music playback via headphones.
Sound quality is poor and crackling.
- The Bluetooth device is out of range. Reduce the distance between the earbuds and the Bluetooth device, or remove obstacles between them.
- Charge your headphones.
Sound quality is poor when streaming from a mobile phone; the stream is very slow or does not function at all.
Check if your mobile phone supports (mono) HFP, as well as A2DP, and if it is compatible with BT4.0x (or later version) (see 'Technical Specifications' on page 11).
The right and left earbuds are not connected to each other.
- Place both earbuds in the charging case, keep the lid open.
- Briefly press the case button 3 times.
