Operation Guide
Pairing Between Transmitter and Receiver
- The transmitter and receiver will turn on automatically when removed from the charging case.
- The transmitter and receiver were already successfully paired before leaving the factory, so they will automatically pair after the product is turned on. After a successful pairing, the indicator lights of the transmitter and receiver will both be on in blue.
If pairing is not successful, perform the following pairing operations:
- In the off state, press and hold the transmitter's power button for 5 seconds, and its indicator light will flash blue rapidly to enter pairing mode.
- In the off state, press and hold the receiver's power button for 5 seconds, and its indicator light will flash blue rapidly to enter pairing mode.
- If pairing is successful, the indicator lights of the transmitter and receiver will both be on in blue.
If it is necessary to pair the transmitter with multiple receivers, after the transmitter is successfully paired with the first receiver, press and hold the power button of the second receiver for 5 seconds so that its indicator light flashes blue rapidly and enters the pairing state. After successful pairing, the indicator light of the second receiver will turn solid blue. Other receivers can be paired sequentially according to this method. Each transmitter can connect to a maximum of four receivers simultaneously.
Transmitter Mounting
- When recording outdoors or in a windy environment, to maintain a clear recording effect, it is recommended to install the windscreen on the transmitter.
- The transmitter can be clipped to clothing via the magnetic back clip, or it can be used by adhering to clothing via the magnetic plate.
Connection and Use with Mobile Devices
- Connect the marked Lightning or USB-C adapter as standard accessories to the receiver and then insert it into devices such as mobile phones, tablets, computers, etc., with the corresponding interface.
- Activate BOYA Central or other applications to record audio or video; if the application is compatible, select the BOYALINK 3 external microphone.
Using Noise Reduction Mode
In a noisy environment, you can briefly press the noise reduction button on the transmitter to activate the noise reduction mode, and switch between strong and weak noise reduction levels through the receiver's configuration button, in order to improve the recording effect.
Recommendations for Noise Reduction Mode Usage Scenarios:
- Strong Noise Reduction: Suitable for blocking highly noisy environments such as street markets, sports stadiums, subway or train stations, construction sites, etc.
- Weak Noise Reduction: Suitable for blocking environments with mild interference such as telephone ringtones, vehicle braking sounds, water sounds, or printer operating sounds, etc.
Tip: When the receiver is connected to devices such as smartphones and computers, it is recommended to use the BOYA Central application to record audio. Users can also adjust the intelligent function panels of the transmitter and receiver through this application, and perform operations such as firmware updates and parameter adjustments.
Connection and Use with Camera
Use the supplied 3.5mm TRS to TRS audio cable as standard accessories to connect the 3.5mm TRS audio output port of the receiver to devices such as cameras and mixers. The audio recorded by the transmitter will be transmitted to the camera or mixer, etc., to which the receiver is connected.
Note: When connecting to a camera, it is recommended to first select the corresponding camera brand and model in the BOYA Central application, and start recording after completing the pre-configuration of the receiver and camera gain, to ensure the best sound pickup effect. For more details, refer to the explanation of the BOYALINK 3 camera gain pre-configuration on the official website.
Tips:
- It is recommended to do a brief recording test before the official recording to check if the audio level is acceptable.
- If the recording environment is noisy, you can briefly press the noise reduction button of the transmitter to activate the noise reduction function. The noise reduction function of the two transmitters will be activated or deactivated simultaneously. You can also double-press the receiver's configuration button to select the best noise reduction level and improve the recording effect.
- After finishing the recording, please place the product in the charging case to charge it.
Troubleshooting
Note: Due to the signal being very prone to interference in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, avoid obstacles such as walls and buildings as much as possible, and avoid getting close to devices operating in the 2.4 GHz frequency, such as high-power Wi-Fi antennas and radios, among others.
If any problem arises during the use of this device, please refer to the following content to solve it. If this manual still cannot solve the problem you have encountered, please contact the after-sales service of your local distributor.
No sound in the recorded audio
- Ensure that the transmitter has been successfully paired with the receiver, and the transmitter and receiver indicator lights are both on in blue. If they are not connected, it is necessary to operate the pairing function.
- Ensure that the transmitter is not currently in mute mode. If the transmitter's indicator light flashes red slowly, it is necessary to briefly press the transmitter's power button to deactivate mute.
The transmitter cannot be paired with the receiver
Ensure that both the transmitter and receiver are in the off state. Press and hold the power button of both for more than 5 seconds until they turn on and the indicator light flashes blue rapidly, then release the button, otherwise, pairing mode cannot be entered.
Limitations on usage distance, appearance of sound distortion and noise
- Ensure that there are no high-power wireless router interferences or wireless devices in the current usage environment. If it cannot be avoided, it is necessary to find a suitable distance and angle.
- Due to the 2.4 GHz spectrum, the signal is very susceptible to interference, so avoid obstacles such as walls and buildings as much as possible, and avoid getting close to devices operating in the 2.4 GHz frequency, such as high-power Wi-Fi antennas, radios, etc.
- Check if the receiver is loose, and re-insert the receiver.
The device cannot be turned on
Confirm if the battery is depleted due to prolonged use without charging, and charge the product.
The charging case cannot charge the transmitter or receiver
- Charge the charging case and see if it is due to excessively low charge.
- Check if the charging contact points are not touching properly. You can clean the charging contact points with a clean cloth and then perform the verification again.
- Check if the magnetic force has aged and the charging contact points are not touching properly. You can press the transmitter or receiver with your hand to check if they can enter the charging state. If it still cannot be charged, please contact customer service for more information.
