Product Overview

The nVent ERIFLEX IBS/IBSB Advanced Insulated Braided Conductor is a halogen-free, ready-to-install flexible wire replacement solution designed for connections to all molded case circuit breakers. It connects directly to front access terminals without the need for additional accessories like angular connectors, spreaders, or ring terminal connectors. Available in cross sections from 25 to 240 mm² (49.34 to 273.65 kcmil) and lengths from 230 to 1,030 mm (9.06" to 40.55"), it supports amperages from 80 to 700 A.

Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility, this conductor uses high-quality electrolytic copper woven into a durable, low-voltage connector offering maximum flexibility for compact power connections. Its unique integral pre-punched palms eliminate the need for separate lugs, simplifying and speeding up installation while reducing the risk of faulty connections due to vibration or fatigue. The IBS/IBSB Advanced is compatible with major brands of molded case circuit breakers.

The advanced insulation is a high-resistance, low-smoke, halogen-free, and flame-retardant thermoplastic. It does not generate corrosive gases and exhibits low smoke opacity, meeting IEC 61034-2 and UL 2885 standards. This characteristic enhances visibility during emergencies, aiding evacuation and rescue efforts, and contributes to greater safety for individuals, reduced damage to electrical equipment, and a lower environmental impact.

The halogen-free feature minimizes toxic smoke and is ideal for enclosed spaces such as data centers, rail, and public facilities. It also supports applications in submarines and switchboards requiring low-emission solutions. The conductor is compliant with UL 94-V0 testing standards and a 960 °C glow wire test, demonstrating its self-extinguishing properties and a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of 30%. This results in limited smoke generation during a fire, causing less damage to electrical equipment.
