Important Safeguards
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not use toaster for other than intended use.
- Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster, as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
- A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls and the like, when in operation.
- Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in. To disconnect, turn any control to "off" then remove plug from wall outlet.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or any non-removable parts of this toaster in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
Electrical Cord Safety
- A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used, ensure:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord is at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
- Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel or in Latin America by an authorized service center.
Polarized Plug (120V Models Only)
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

How to Use
This appliance is for household use only.
- Plug the power cord into a standard wall outlet. To minimize cord clutter on kitchen countertops, use the cord wrap located under the toaster.
- Adjust the toast shade selector to the desired setting. For first use, set selector to a middle setting of 4; adjust as desired for future toasting. For models T125/T125BC/T125C: Adjust each selector as you may toast 2 different types of foods at the same time (i.e., bread in one side; waffles in the other) and may want different browning.
- Place bread slices or other items to be toasted in the slots and press down the toast control lever until it clicks. The self-adjusting bread guides will automatically adjust to hold the food in place and the power indicator light will illuminate to indicate toasting has begun.
- If the food to be toasted is frozen, touch the Frozen button (A) after you have pressed down the toast control lever. The light next to the FROZEN button will come on when the FROZEN button is pressed, and will remain on until toasting is done, or the CANCEL button is pressed.
- When toasting is done, the control lever will automatically pop up and toast can be removed from the toaster.
- The bagel setting will toast bagels and English muffins crisp on the top and soft and warm on the bottom. This setting also works well for frosted toaster pastries. To use, press down the toast control lever until it clicks, then press the BAGEL button (A). Place the cut side of the bagel or English muffin in the toaster with the cut side toward the inside of the toaster. For frosted toaster pastries, place the non-frosted side toward the inside of the toaster. The light next to the BAGEL button will come on when the BAGEL button is pressed, and will remain on until toasting is done, or the CANCEL button is pressed.
- If food becomes wedged, the built-in auto power-off function will automatically shut off the power. IMPORTANT: Unplug the cord and move the toast control lever up and down a few times to raise "jammed" food. Never use metal utensils to free food.
- To interrupt toasting at any time, press the CANCEL button (A).
Care and Cleaning
This product contains no user-serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
Always unplug the cord from the electrical outlet and allow the toaster to cool before cleaning. Do not immerse the toaster in water.
Crumb Tray
The removable crumb tray (B) is located on the opposite side from the toast control lever. Note: The 4-slice models have 2 crumb trays. Grasp the handle of the crumb tray and pull out completely. Dispose of crumbs and wash the tray in hot, sudsy water. Stubborn spots can be removed with a nylon mesh pad. The tray is not dishwasher safe. Dry the tray thoroughly before re-inserting in its slot in the toaster.
Cleaning the Outside Surfaces
Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. To clean, wipe the exterior with a slightly dampened soft cloth or sponge and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel. Do not use strong cleaners or abrasives that may scratch the surface, and never spray cleaners directly onto the toaster.
Cord Storage
To hide excess cord, use the cord wrap under the unit.
