Installation
Note: Single-person assembly is possible. It is recommended to use professional tradespeople for installation.
-
Step 1: Valve Placement and Securing
Determine the desired location for the shower valve. Create a recess in the wall to accommodate the mixer. Mark the installation holes through the lugs on the mixer body. Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs. Secure the mixer into position using the provided screws. Connect the inlet and outlet pipework to the mixer using an appropriate sealing method. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks before proceeding to fit the cover plate.
-
Step 2: Cover Plate Installation
Once checked, install the cover plate. Apply silicone sealant between the plate and the wall. Push the plate onto the mixer, ensuring correct orientation so that the markings align with the controls on the mixer.
-
Step 3: Handle Assembly and Temperature Setting
Finally, install the handle assembly by fitting the handle to the valve. Tighten the retaining screw, followed by the peg or cover cap. To ensure correct temperature setting, align Face A on the stop ring with the mark on the thermostatic cartridge. If misaligned, turn the spindle to adjust before fitting the handle.
Handle Alignment and Temperature Setting (Continued)
Step 4: Final Handle Alignment
Once the marks are aligned, place the handle onto the thermostat so that lug B on the inside of the handle sits against Face A on the stop ring. With the handle fitted, turn it towards cold, then back to the 38°C position. If correct alignment is achieved, press the button and continue turning to go beyond the 38°C stop position.
Operation
- To open the mixer, turn the on/off handle anti-clockwise.
- To close the mixer, turn the on/off handle clockwise.
- To decrease temperature, turn the temperature control handle clockwise.
- To increase temperature, turn the temperature control handle anti-clockwise.
Recalibrate
The temperature control handles are factory set and typically require no adjustment. However, if the handles and/or cartridge are removed, it is important to follow the recalibration procedures outlined in the installation steps.
Troubleshooting
1. Output water temperature does not correspond with temperature set
- Cause: Thermostat has not been adjusted based on the existing home water system.
- Remedy: Adjust the thermostat; refer to the "Temperature Setting" procedure.
- Cause: Hot Water temperature too low.
- Remedy: Adjust the water heater to increase hot water temperature to 65°C.
2. Crossflow: Cold water being forced into hot water pipe, or vice versa, when valve is closed
- Cause: Non-return valves are dirty or leaking.
- Remedy: Clean the non-return valves or exchange them if necessary.
3. Very low flow or no flow
- Cause: Supply pressure is inadequate.
- Remedy: Check hot and cold feeds. If a pump is installed, verify its operation. The valve may shut down if either the cold or hot water supply fails.
4. Water will not run hot enough when first installed
- Cause: Incorrect maximum temperature setting.
- Remedy: Adjust the maximum temperature; refer to the "Temperature Setting" procedure.
Maintenance
Over time, debris or limescale may build up around the thermostat or non-return valve filters, affecting product performance. To resolve this, remove the thermostat or non-return valve from the mixer and clean them. Turn off the water supply and turn on the mixer to drain any residual water.
Maintenance (Filter / Check Valve)
- Remove the check valve clamp cap.
- Use pliers to remove the check valve and filter.
- Wash the filter with clean running water, dry it, and lightly grease the seals using only silicone grease.
- Reinstall the filter and check valve, then tighten the clamp cap.
Maintenance (Thermostatic Cartridge)
Concealed thermostatic cartridges are designed for reliable service. In case of failure, servicing is straightforward:
- Remove the cartridge clamp cap.
- Pull out the thermostatic cartridge.
- Wash the thermostatic cartridge with clean running water, dry it, and lightly grease the seals using only silicone grease.
- Reinstall the thermostatic cartridge, then tighten the clamp cap.
Cleaning
To maintain the product's surface, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth and then dry it. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents or materials that could scratch or strip the surface, as this may invalidate your guarantee. Regular wiping and drying are recommended.
