Introduction
TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs, available in Tunable White and Multi-Color variants, are Wi-Fi enabled, dimmable, and energy-efficient LED light bulbs. They can be controlled via iOS or Android smartphones or tablets without requiring an additional hub or hardwired switch. The TP-Link Kasa mobile app allows users to access their lights and create custom lighting automations from anywhere with an active internet connection.
Product Requirements
- A smartphone or tablet running iOS 8 or higher; Android 4.1x or higher.
- A Wi-Fi connection (supports 802.11n standard).
Important Safety Information
Before installing or replacing the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs, read and follow all precautions:
- WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR BURNS. Switch OFF the light switch controlling the bulb and WAIT for the bulb to cool down before attempting to change it.
- Do not install the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb with wet hands or when standing on wet or damp surfaces.
- Not suitable for use with standard in-wall dimmers. Dimmable via the app only.
- Suitable for use in operating environments between -20°C and 40°C (-4°F and 104°F).
- This device is not intended for use with emergency exit luminaires.
- NOT FOR EMERGENCY LIGHTING.
Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb Installation
- Download the TP-Link Kasa app from the App Store ? or Google Play ▶️. Alternatively, scan the QR code ?.
- Connect your mobile device to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Note: The Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs only support 2.4GHz networks.
- Launch the Kasa app and follow the in-app instructions to connect the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb to your home network.

Using Kasa with Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs
Kasa Account
While a Kasa account is not mandatory for basic device use, signing up provides added functionality:
- Synchronization of settings and configurations across all your mobile devices.
- Ability to control and configure devices remotely from outside your home.
- Customization of TP-Link Smart Home devices with 'Scenes' for automated experiences.
- Integration with third-party services and products like Amazon Echo.
Devices can only be associated with one Kasa account. To remove an association, turn off Remote Control in Kasa's settings or perform a factory reset. After creating an account, verify your email by clicking a link in the confirmation email from Kasa; otherwise, many features will not function.
Kasa Settings
Kasa's Settings allow you to configure global preferences:
- Remote Control: Enables control of Smart Home devices outside your home. Requires signing into your Kasa account.
- Location and Time: Sets the device's location and time for accurate scheduling. Location can be set via smartphone GPS or manual coordinates.
- Firmware Update: Updates your Smart Home devices when new firmware is available. Refer to the 'Firmware Update' section for instructions.
Kasa Controls
Features and functions may vary by Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb model. The Multi-Color bulb is used as an example.

Customizing Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs
Personalize your Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb with a descriptive name, icon, and other details via the bulb's settings screen.
- From the Devices screen, tap the row of the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb to access its controls.
- Tap the Settings icon ⚙️ at the top-right corner.
- On the Device Settings screen, tap the arrow icon ➡️ for each setting you wish to personalize:
- Device Name: Create a unique name for your Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb.
- Device Icon: Choose from available icons or upload a custom icon.
- Default State: Set the bulb's state when it is switched on.
- Presets: Select a preset or customize your own by tapping the edit icon ✏️.
Tunable White
*Available for the LB120 and LB130 bulbs only.
The LB120 bulb offers an adjustable temperature range from warm (2,700k) to cool (6,500k) white. The LB130 bulb has a color temperature rating from 2500k to 9000k, allowing adjustment of home lighting throughout the day.
- From the Devices screen, tap the row of the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb to access its controls.
- Select a preferred color temperature (warm or cool) from the spectrum.

Adjustment of Brightness
You can adjust the bulb brightness (for both white and color) from 1% to 100% using the dimmer slider.
Note: The Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb can only be dimmed via the Kasa app. It is not recommended for use with a standard in-wall dimmer.

Coloring your room
*Available for the Multi-Color bulb only.
The Multi-Color bulb can illuminate in a wide spectrum of colors, enabling the creation of perfect ambiance or exciting lighting effects for home décor.
- From the Devices screen, tap the row of the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb to access its controls.
- Tap 'COLOR' to switch to Color mode.
- Select a hue from the color spectrum.

Circadian Mode
*Available for the Tunable White and Multi-Color bulbs only.
When enabled, Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs dynamically adjust light intensity and color temperature to mimic natural daylight changes, supporting your body's circadian rhythm.
- From the Devices screen, tap the row of the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb to access its controls.
- Tap the Circadian Mode icon ☀️ to enable the mode.

Scheduling
Set up your Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs to illuminate your home at specific times on specific days of the week, or to gently wake you up in the morning.
- From the Devices screen, tap the row of the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb for which you want to create a schedule.
- Tap the Schedule icon ?️ to open the Schedule screen.
- Tap the Plus icon [+] to create an event.
- In the 'Create Event' screen, set your preferred state for the light bulb (ON or OFF), brightness intensity, time, and day(s).
- Tap 'SAVE'.
You can create up to 16 events for a Smart Bulb and edit them anytime from the Schedule screen.

Energy Monitoring
Utilize the energy usage monitoring capability to get real-time energy consumption reports (average daily, weekly, and monthly) for your Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs.

Creating Scenes
Take full advantage of your TP-Link Smart Home devices with 'Scenes'. A scene is a preset group of Smart Devices (like Smart Plugs, Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs, and Smart Switches) that can be customized and controlled simultaneously with a single tap from your smartphone or tablet. This allows you to easily set your mood or fit any special occasion. For example, a 'Movie Time' scene could turn on the home theater system plugged into a Smart Plug and dim the lights in the Entertainment Room to 10% simultaneously.
Note: SCENES can only be set and controlled once you are signed into your Kasa account.

Maintaining the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs
Firmware Update
To ensure your Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs operate optimally with the latest improvements and fixes, update the firmware when updates are available.

- Launch the Kasa app.
- Tap the navigation drawer icon ☰ and then 'Settings'.
- Tap 'Firmware Update'.

Note: Only Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs that are currently reachable and have an available update will be displayed. It is important to keep the Kasa app running and avoid minimizing, closing, or interrupting the update process to prevent issues.
Resetting
Resetting the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs can help troubleshoot issues. Two types of resets are available:
- Soft Reset: Does not erase current settings.
- Factory Reset: Erases all custom settings and restores them to factory defaults.
To reset the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs without losing configuration settings:
- Turn the light switch controlling the bulb to the OFF position.
- Flip the light switch ON and OFF 3 times.
To reset the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs to factory defaults:
- Turn the light switch controlling the bulb to the OFF position.
- Flip the light switch ON and OFF 5 times.

- Can I control multiple Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs at the same time?
Yes. You can manage and save multiple bulbs together as a 'scene'. - How far can I be and still able to control the Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs?
You can control your Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. - The Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb appears offline or unreachable, what should I do?
- Check that the light switch is ON. The Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb requires an 'always-on' power supply.
- Ensure you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network for local control. For control outside your home, sign in to your Kasa account and enable Remote Control.

Safety Information
