IKEA "Scan and Win" Sweepstakes: Terms and Conditions

1. Organizer and Administrator

The sweepstakes is organized and administered by IKEA Lakberendezési Kft., located at Magyarország 1148 Budapest, Örs vezér tere 22. The terms and conditions are published on the IKEA website: www.ikea.hu.

2. Participants

Participation is open to individuals residing in Hungary, aged 18 or over, who are valid IKEA Family club members and possess a valid Hungarian identification document. Participants must meet the conditions outlined in these terms.

IKEA reserves the right to exclude participants who violate the rules, engage in unethical behavior, make offensive statements about IKEA or its products, or fail to meet the eligibility criteria.

3. Duration of the Sweepstakes

The sweepstakes runs from July 7, 2025 (10:00) to August 10, 2025 (19:00). IKEA may modify the terms and conditions if such changes do not disproportionately disadvantage participants.

4. Participation and Sweepstakes Process

To enter, IKEA Family members must make a purchase totaling at least 21,000 HUF (after discounts and vouchers) at any Hungarian IKEA store during the sweepstakes period. Online and phone orders are excluded. Each qualifying purchase will receive a "Sweepstakes Ticket" (Játékszelvény) to be deposited into a designated collection box at the store.

Participants must retain their purchase receipts for 30 days after the main prize draw. Failure to present a copy of the receipt upon request will result in disqualification.

By participating, individuals consent to the processing of their personal data for the sweepstakes. Winners will be notified via the email address registered in their IKEA Family profile. Participants are responsible for ensuring their contact information is accurate and up-to-date.

Participants agree to have their first initial, full first name, and purchase location/time published on the website if they win.

Participants can withdraw their consent to participate at any time by sending an email to data.privacy.hu@ikea.com or a letter to the IKEA address.

5. Prize Draw and Schedule

The prize draw will be conducted manually to ensure randomness. The draw will take place on August 11, 2025, between 11:00 and 12:00. Sweepstakes tickets must be deposited by 19:00 on August 10, 2025.

6. Prizes and Winners

Prizes to be drawn include three IKEA gift cards with values of 50,000 HUF, 150,000 HUF, and 250,000 HUF, respectively. These gift cards are valid for use in IKEA stores and online until August 11, 2030.

Gift cards are issued in plastic card format and can be collected at the store where the winner was drawn. Gift cards can be used for any product purchase and cannot be exchanged for cash. Expired gift cards are not redeemable.

Prizes are non-transferable. Winners will be notified via email. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash. IKEA is not obligated to provide alternative prizes or cash equivalents.

IKEA will cover any applicable taxes and social security contributions related to the prizes. Participants are responsible for any other costs incurred, such as travel expenses for prize collection.

A total of 9 winners will be determined through the draw.

7. Winner Notification and Prize Delivery

Within 5 business days of the draw, IKEA will publish the winners' names (first initial and full first name) and prize values on its website. Winners will be notified via email within 5 business days of the draw.

IKEA is not responsible for consequences arising from incorrect or incomplete data provided by participants or issues with their email accounts. If winners are unreachable or fail to claim their prizes by August 31, 2025, the prize will be forfeited.

Prize award ceremonies may be publicized on IKEA's promotional channels (website, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), subject to data protection notices. Photo and video recordings may be made during prize delivery, with the winner's explicit consent.

Once a prize is received, participants cannot file complaints. IKEA is not liable if a winner cannot utilize their prize within its validity period.

IKEA may disqualify a participant if their personal data is inaccurate, incomplete, or if they otherwise fail to meet the eligibility criteria. IKEA is not liable for any issues arising from incorrect or incomplete data provided by participants.

Prizes can be collected by an authorized representative, provided they present a valid power of attorney and identification. Any tax liabilities remain the responsibility of the winner.

IKEA is not responsible if a winner cannot claim or use their prize within the specified deadlines.

8. Miscellaneous Provisions

Participants who violate these terms and conditions may be disqualified, and any prize awarded may be forfeited. Participants are responsible for the consequences of providing incorrect personal information or having issues with their email accounts.

IKEA disclaims all liability for any claims for damages, compensation, or expenses arising from participation in the sweepstakes, including any errors or omissions in the sweepstakes' execution or prize fulfillment. Participants expressly waive any claims against IKEA related to the sweepstakes' organization, execution, or prizes.

IKEA is not liable for temporary unavailability of its website due to technical issues or for errors and consequences resulting from external factors beyond its control.

IKEA reserves the right to modify the sweepstakes, including prize substitutions, if unforeseen circumstances make the original prize unavailable, provided such changes do not disproportionately disadvantage participants.

IKEA's decisions on any disputes arising from the sweepstakes are final. IKEA is not responsible for any typographical or display errors in promotional materials related to the sweepstakes.

By participating, participants acknowledge they have read, understood, and accepted these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.

9. Warranty and Guarantee

Products purchased with IKEA gift cards are subject to IKEA's standard warranty and guarantee provisions.

10. Data Management

IKEA Lakberendezési Kft. acts as the data controller for personal data collected during the sweepstakes. For data protection inquiries, contact the Data Protection Officer at the IKEA address or via email at data.privacy.hu@ikea.com.

Personal data collected includes IKEA Family card number, IKEA Family profile email address, winner's name, tax identification number, and any photo/video recordings of winners. This data is used solely for sweepstakes administration, participant contact, and prize fulfillment, except where legally required for tax and accounting purposes.

The processing of personal data for sweepstakes participation is based on voluntary consent. However, providing personal data is necessary for participation and prize awarding.

The public nature of prize awarding means that photos or videos of prize recipients may be published on IKEA's promotional platforms, based on IKEA's legitimate economic interest in promoting the brand and its products. Participants explicitly consent to IKEA's access and processing of their data for these purposes.

Participants have rights regarding their data, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing. These rights can be exercised through the contact information provided. Complaints can be filed with the National Data Protection and Freedom of Information Authority (NAIH).
