Preparation
- Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove any existing fixture, including its mounting plate.
- Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area. Be careful not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.
Mounting the Fixture
The fixture canopy is supplied with the mounting plate pre-installed and secured by the mounting screw.
- Loosen the mounting screw (B) to remove the mounting back plate from the fixture.
- Secure the mounting back plate to the junction box using the appropriate junction box screws. NOTE: The side of the mounting back plate marked "GND" must face out.
Diagram Description (FIG. 1): Illustrates fixture assembly: A mounting back plate is secured by a mounting screw (B) to the junction box. The fixture canopy attaches to the mounting back plate. The driver and fixture body are connected, with wires passing through a rod and connecting to a wire connector (A).
Diagram Description (FIG. 2): Shows mounting back plate dimensions: 1 3/4 inches and 4 1/4 inches diameter.
Diagram Description (FIG. 3): Shows the mounting back plate being secured to a junction box using junction box screws, requiring a Phillips screwdriver.
Connecting the Power Wires
- Connect fixture wires to building wires: insert each supply wire into the appropriate junction box wire connector (see FIG. 4). The fixture ground wire may be secured to the mounting plate ground screw terminal. Alternatively, it may be spliced and connected to existing building ground wiring (see FIG. 5).
- This fixture features electronic low voltage (ELV) dimming capabilities. To utilize ELV, wire black (line hot), white (line neutral), and green (ground) in accordance with dimmer specifications.
- Make sure that all wire connectors (A) are secure. If your outlet box has a green or bare copper ground wire, connect the fixture's ground wire to it. Otherwise, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the mounting back plate using the green screw provided.
- After wires are connected, tuck them carefully inside the junction box.
Diagram Description (FIG. 4): Wiring diagram showing connections: Fixture wires (Black/Smooth, White/Ribbed, Green/Bare) connect to House wires (Black/Hot, White/Neutral, Green/Bare Copper/Ground) using wire connectors. The fixture's ground wire can also connect to the mounting plate's ground screw.
Diagram Description (FIG. 5): Illustrates ground wire connection options: The fixture's green ground wire is shown connected to the outlet box's green or bare copper ground wire, or directly to the mounting back plate's green ground screw.
Securing the Canopy
- With wire connections placed inside the junction box, raise the canopy towards the ceiling (see FIG. 6).
- Align the mounting plate tabs to the open grooves of the canopy. Turn the canopy clockwise (CW) to fasten it to the mounting plate (see FIG. 7).
- Secure the canopy to the mounting plate and ceiling by fastening the provided mounting screw (see FIG. 8).
Diagram Description (FIG. 6): Shows the fixture canopy being raised towards the ceiling after wire connections are made inside the junction box.
Diagram Description (FIG. 7): Shows the canopy being attached to the mounting plate by aligning tabs and turning clockwise.
Diagram Description (FIG. 8): Shows the final step of securing the canopy to the mounting plate and ceiling with the provided mounting screw.
Fixture Aiming and Adjustment
The fixture is capable of 90-degree vertical aiming and 360-degree horizontal rotation.
Beam Angle Adjustment:
- Hold the fixture body with one hand and the front cap with another.
- Grip the front cap with two fingers and rotate it gently clockwise (wider beam) or counter-clockwise (narrower beam) until the desired beam angle is achieved.
- Cease rotation when you feel resistance as the beam angle is reaching its minimum or maximum.
Diagram Description (FIG. 9): Illustrates horizontal rotation capability: The fixture can rotate 0-360 degrees horizontally. (Note: Do not over-rotate).
Diagram Description (FIG. 10): Illustrates vertical rotation capability: The fixture can tilt vertically from 0-90 degrees.
Diagram Description (FIG. 11): Illustrates beam angle adjustment: The front cap can be rotated to change the beam angle between 15-50 degrees.
Accessories
- The fixture accommodates one glare control accessory. Refer to the spec sheet for a list of compatible accessories.
- Install accessories between the front cap and accessory holder (sold separately). Ensure the accessory holder is securely attached prior to completing installation (see FIG. 12).
Diagram Description (FIG. 12): Shows compatible accessories: Various lens and snoot accessories are listed and depicted, including LENS-11-HCM, LENS-S211-HLD-BK, LENS-S211-HLD-WT, LENS-11P-CRL-BK, LENS-11P-CRL-WT, LENS-11-SNOOT-BK, LENS-11-SNOOT-WT.
