Mandatory Installation Requirements & Warnings
Hood Pin Contact: The hood pin switch is mandatory. If the vehicle can be remote started with the hood open, Function A11 must be set to OFF.
Safety Notice: All safety elements, including the hood pin, are essential and must be installed correctly.
Technician Warning: This module must be installed by a qualified technician. Incorrect wiring can lead to permanent vehicle damage.
Battery Disconnection: Before starting installation, disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. Reconnect it only after all vehicle connectors are properly reconnected.
Key Fob Preparation
Step 1: Battery Removal: Remove the battery from the vehicle's key fob.
Step 2: Transponder Antenna Integration:
- Option A (Recommended): Use the ARE-1R0 transponder antenna. Peel the adhesive backing from the antenna ring and stick it onto the back of the key fob.
- Option B (Alternative): Wrap a 22-gauge wire around the back of the key fob 5 to 10 times.
Wiring Connections Overview
The installation involves connecting the EVO-ALL module to specific points in the vehicle's electrical system. Key locations and connectors are:
- Gateway Module: Located in the driver's side dashboard.
- BCM (Body Control Module): Located beneath the glovebox.
- Vehicle Connectors: X2 (Pink), X4 (Gray), X5 (Green), X6 (Brown), X8 (Dark Gray).
Key Connections Include:
- Power: (+) 12V Battery (B3/B4), Ground (B2/B3).
- Ignition: (+) Ignition (Yellow wire).
- Data Links: CAN LOW (Orange wire), CAN HIGH (Gray wire).
- Vehicle Functions: Connections for Lock, Unlock, Door Status, Trunk Status, Parking Lights, Brake status, Hood status, Tachometer, Foot Brake, and Hand Brake are made via specific module pins (e.g., A2 for Lock, A3 for Unlock, A11 for Foot Brake, A15 for Hood).
- Transponder System: Connections for the IMMO system and the ARE-1R0 antenna are also detailed.
Specific wiring requires a 1.5 K Ohm resistor, a 1 Amp diode, and a 7.5 Amp fuse at designated points.
Programming Procedure
Follow these steps to program the EVO-ALL module:
- Initiate Programming: Press and hold the programming button on the module. Connect the 4-Pin Data-link connector. The module's LEDs (Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue & Red) will illuminate sequentially.
