Pintech DP-60HS Differential Probe Instruction Manual

Overview

The DP-60HS Differential Probe provides a safe, isolated instrument for use with various oscilloscopes. It converts high differential input voltages (up to 70V PEAK) into low voltages (up to 4V) for display on an oscilloscope, with a frequency response up to 60 MHz. It is ideal for high-power testing and R&D applications.

The differential probe's output is designed for a 1MΩ input impedance oscilloscope with a specific attenuation. When using a 50Ω impedance matcher, the attenuation is doubled.

For more precise voltage readings, it is recommended to observe the actual tested voltage values on a digital multimeter, as oscilloscopes typically have an accuracy of 3%, while digital multimeters are approximately 10 times more accurate.

Specifications

Probe Panel Description

The probe features the following controls and indicators:

Operating Environment and Conditions

Condition General State In Use Storage
Temperature +20°C ~ +30°C 0°C ~ +50°C -30°C ~ +70°C
Humidity 70% RH 10% ~ 85% RH 10% ~ 90% RH

Operating Procedure

  1. Connect the accessories BP-356N and BP-256N (or BP-276) to the input terminals of the DP-60HS. Connect BP-256N (or BP-276) to the measurement object.
  2. Connect BP-250 to the output terminal of the DP-60HS and then to the oscilloscope.
  3. Adjust the vertical switch on the oscilloscope if necessary.
  4. Set the oscilloscope's attenuation ratio and vertical switch to match the probe's attenuation setting as shown in the table below.
  5. Ensure the power is turned on.

Maximum Input Voltage (DC+AC Peak)

Attenuation X10 X5 X1
Maximum Input Voltage 35 V 16 V 3.5 V

Oscilloscope Vertical Deflection (V/DIV) vs. Actual Deflection (V/DIV)

Oscilloscope Vertical Deflection (V/DIV) Actual Deflection (V/DIV) (x10 Attenuation) Actual Deflection (V/DIV) (x5 Attenuation) Actual Deflection (V/DIV) (x1 Attenuation)
1 10 5 1
0.5 5 2.5 0.5
0.2 2 1 0.2
0.1 1 0.5 0.1
50 m 0.5 0.25 50 m
20 m 0.2 0.1 20 m
10 m 0.1 50 m 10 m
5 m 50 m 25 m 5 m
2 m 20 m 10 m 2 m

Notes:

  1. The actual vertical deflection is the product of the attenuation factor and the vertical deflection selected on the oscilloscope. If using a PL-50 (50Ω load), the actual deflection is multiplied by 2 (i.e., 2x gain). For example, if the probe is set to x200 and the oscilloscope's vertical deflection is 0.5V/div, the actual vertical deflection is 200 * 0.5 = 100V/div. If the oscilloscope input has a 50Ω load, the deflection becomes 200V/div.
  2. When connecting the differential probe's BNC output cable to an oscilloscope or other device, ensure the BNC terminal is reliably grounded.

External Power Supply

Due to its high power consumption of 120 mA, this product requires the specified 9V adapter (ADP-220). Do not use non-specified adapters. Pintech is not responsible for any damage caused by the use of unauthorized adapters.

Maintenance

Use only Pintech-specified tools for maintenance. Pintech is not liable for any repairs performed by unauthorized personnel.

Cleaning

No specific cleaning procedures are required for this product. If necessary, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, clean cloth lightly dampened with a mild cleaning solution.

Warranty

Repair

For any repairs, maintenance, or parts replacement outside of the warranty period, please return the product to the manufacturer for service.
