Quick Setup Guide
Follow these steps to get your safe up and running.

Step 1: Power and Batteries
Plug in the safe using the included AC power adapter for normal function. Install four AAA batteries (not included) for backup power. These batteries provide power for approximately 3 months in Low Power Mode during a power outage, allowing quick access. The safe will beep periodically until batteries are installed.

Step 2: Vaultek ViSN™ Smartphone App
Download and use the Vaultek ViSN smartphone app to program your safe, customize settings, and receive live alerts of critical safe activity from anywhere.

Step 3: Program Master Code and Biometric Scanner
The ViSN smartphone app will guide you through programming the Master Code and Biometric Scanner.

Step 4: Register Your Safe
Register your safe on the Vaultek website to receive benefits including a three-year warranty, technical support, and the ability to order replacement keys.

The Vaultek® ViSN MR is a tough, rugged, quick-access smart safe enabled by VISN™ technology. Its robust structure and penetration-resistant design make it ideal for storing valuables like firearms, jewelry, cash, and personal items. It is powered by the AC adapter and backup batteries, offering high security with complete access control.

Power and Backup Batteries
The MR Series ViSN safe requires continuous connection to its AC power adapter for normal operation. Four AAA backup batteries are essential for maintaining functionality during power outages.
Plug-In Requirement:
Connect the safe to a power outlet using the included AC power adapter (A) for continuous power.
Backup Battery Requirement:
Install four AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment. The key entry ? is located at the top of the safe. Open the battery compartment by pressing down on the tab near the top of the cover. For optimal performance, Duracell or Energizer batteries are recommended.
In the event of a power outage, the safe will switch to Low Power Mode. The backup batteries will last approximately 3 months in this mode. The safe will only be online when awake and will go offline during standby. Nano Key functionality is not supported during standby.
Warnings and Safety Precautions ⚠️
To prevent damage to the unit or injury, please read the following safety precautions before use:
- Inspect the safe for proper door latch function before use. Test by opening and closing the door 5 times. Do not use if any problems are noticed. Contact Vaultek customer support at support@vaulteksafe.com.
- Always ensure the safe door is properly latched when closing. Press firmly near the center of the front door. The door requires a firm press and will lock automatically when closed correctly.
- Change the default access code as soon as possible to prevent unauthorized access.
- Do not lose the keys ?. Backup batteries provide approximately 3 months of power in Low Power Mode during an outage.
- Never store the backup keys inside the safe.
- Do not store loaded firearms in this unit. Firearms require responsible handling.
- Keep this product away from small children, as it contains small parts that could be a choking hazard.

Keypad Access
The numeric keypad offers quick access and features a built-in proximity sensor.

ViSN Mode supports up to 80 fingerprints. Essential Mode supports up to 20 fingerprints.

Enables guided programming, safe setting management, and live alerts from anywhere.

Nano Key 3.0 Technology
Provides quick access via a panic button. Pair using the Vaultek ViSN smartphone app. Not supported in Essential Mode or during standby.

Security Sleep Mode
Activates after six consecutive incorrect keypad entries or fingerprint scans, enforcing a 4-minute lockout. Further attempts trigger an alarm. This mode can be cleared by any authorized access method.
Programming and Settings
The Vaultek ViSN smartphone app provides step-by-step guidance for programming your safe and accessing advanced features. A web dashboard is also available at www.vaultekvisn.com for monitoring, though programming is not supported via the web.
Smartphone App:
Download the Vaultek ViSN app from Google Play or the Apple Store and follow the on-screen prompts.
Essential Mode:
This mode allows programming the master code and biometric scanner without Wi-Fi connectivity. ViSN and Nano Key features are not available in Essential Mode. To enable Essential Mode, press and hold the '8' key and the Program button together until the safe restarts. The safe can toggle between ViSN and Essential modes.
Keypad Hotkeys:
- Tamper Detection: Press and hold keys '2' and '4' together to check tamper status (TAMPER OCCURRED or CLEAR). Reset by opening the safe.
- Battery Status: Press and hold keys '6' and '8' together for 3 seconds to view the battery level. ?
- Sound Control: Press and hold keys '1' and '3' together to cycle through sound options: Low, Medium, High, or OFF.
- Factory Reset: With the safe open and key turned clockwise, press and hold keys '2', '7', and the Program button until the safe restarts. This erases all programmed information and network settings. The master code resets to 1-2-3-4. Wi-Fi configuration will be required again for ViSN features.

Mounting
Your Vaultek safe can be secured to a flat surface (wall or floor) using the included mounting screws and the pre-drilled holes located on the bottom and back of the safe.

Interior Shelf
The safe includes a pull-out shelf for convenient storage and organization.
Removing the Shelf:
Pull the shelf out fully. Locate the levers on each side of the rail, depress them, and pull the shelf out of the safe. (Note: One lever may need to be pressed down while the other is lifted up).
Installing the Shelf:
Carefully align the shelf rails with the base rails inside the safe. Push the shelf in until the side rails snap into place.
