Care and Maintenance
Your KINGSTON faucet is finished to strict standards. However, due to high mineral content in water, the finish may appear dull or tarnished over time. Follow these guidelines to maintain the luster for years to come.
DO
- Use a silicon-based caulking when installing.
- Clean your faucet with only a mild soap and water solution.
- Dry your faucet after using it.
- Apply a coat of Carnauba Wax periodically.
DON'T
- Use plumbers putty when installing the faucet.
- Use any abrasive cleaning agents.
Maintaining your faucet is simple. If the finish appears dull or tarnished, try a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. For stubborn areas, soak rags in the solution and wrap them around the faucet overnight. Rinse thoroughly in the morning and apply Carnauba wax to restore the shine after mineral deposits are removed.
Installation Instructions
Before Beginning Installation
- Flush plumbing lines to clear any debris.
- Shut off both supply lines after flushing.
Tools Needed
- Basin Wrench
- Adjustable Wrench
- Teflon Tape
- Silicone Sealant
- Screwdriver
Installation Steps
- Shut off hot and cold water supply under the sink. Plug the sink drain with a cloth to avoid losing small parts. Remove the old faucet.
- After applying a bead of silicon-based caulking to the underside of the plastic plate, set it at the desired location.
- Insert the faucet shank through the center hole and secure by threading large wing nuts onto the screws that secure the base plate. Insert washers and thread the locknut onto the center shank of the faucet. Use a basin wrench to tighten.
- Insert the spray head hose from the top, male thread side first. Moving the spout to the right or left side will facilitate hose insertion. Apply Teflon tape to the threads and place the rubber washer on the bottom end of the hose. Thread the hose onto the spray tube nut. Tighten using a basin or adjustable wrench. Gently bending the inlet lines will make it easier to thread the spray hose.
- Apply Teflon tape to the inlet lines and thread the supply lines. Tighten using an adjustable wrench.
- Install the counterweight set on the spray hose, placing it at least 2 inches higher than the bend on the hose. Attach with screws tightly.
- Apply Teflon tape on the stop valves and attach the supply lines. With the faucet closed, turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
- Pull the spray hose through the spout and hold it securely. Turn on the faucet and let the water run for at least 1 minute to clear any debris from the line.
- Insert the washer and attach the spray head. Insert the spray head onto the faucet body.
Warning
• Do not over-tighten nuts during installation. Over-tightening may crack the valve and cause a severe leak.
Notice
Failure to follow all directions may cause leaks, which may result in water damage.
