Assembly and Instructions for Use
- Unpack the product: Wipe off dust with a damp cloth. (See Figure 1 for parts identification).
- Assemble the fountain stand:
- Step a: Place the Bottom Ring on a flat surface, allowing it to hang slightly over for easy alignment. Align the holes of the Bottom Ring with the holes on the Bottom Legs. Partially secure by tightening the screws using the provided screwdriver. Repeat for all three Bottom Legs. Do not tighten completely yet. (See Figure 2).
- Step b: Insert the Bottom Legs into the Leg Holder and adjust them to sit evenly. Now, completely tighten the three screws in the Leg Holder and the three screws in the Bottom Ring. (See Figure 3). Note: You may need to unscrew the Leg Holder screws slightly to allow the legs to slide in properly.
- Step c: Insert the Upper Legs into the other end of the Leg Holder. Ensure the Bottom Leg with the cord clip is on the same side as the Upper Leg with the cord clip. Do not tighten screws in the Leg Holder at this point. (See Figure 4).
- Step d: Align the holes of the Upper Ring with the holes on the Upper Legs and adjust them to sit evenly. Completely tighten the three screws located on the Upper Ring. (See Figure 5).
- Step e: Tighten the remaining three screws located on the Leg Holder. (See Figure 5).
- Step f: Verify all screws are tightened completely. The stand is now fully assembled. (See Figure 6).
- Assemble the fountain top:
- Step a: Familiarize yourself with the pump. The switch on the front controls pump speed, indicated by (+) for faster and (-) for slower. Move the switch slowly downward towards (+) to increase speed, or upward towards (-) to decrease speed. You will hear a click as the speed changes. The switch will stop at the highest and lowest speeds. It is recommended to set the pump at its highest speed during assembly and adjust later if desired. Always unplug the pump before adjusting the speed setting. (See Figure 7).
- Attention: For best results, operate the pump completely submerged. Keep the water level above the minimum water level AT ALL TIMES.
- Step b: Insert the rubber end of the waterproof lights into the light clips located inside the base, keeping the light cords in position as shown in Figure 8. A slight twist may help push the rubber end through the clip. Handle the bulb cover gently as it is made of glass.
- Step c: Insert the small end of the connector into the pump. (See Figure 9).
- Step d: Insert the LED light into the water inlet attached to the top of the fountain. (See Figure 10).
- Step e: Insert the large end of the connector into the water inlet attached to the top of the fountain. Note: You must slide the LED light through the water inlet first.
- Step f: Place the fountain top, with the pump attached, onto the fountain base. (See Figure 11).
- Set the assembled fountain top onto the metal stand: Align the cord so it runs down the Upper and Lower Legs that contain the cord clips. You may need to carefully bend open the cord clips to allow room for the cord. Place the cord in the clips to minimize visibility. (See Figure 12).
- Fill the base: Fill the base with 50 oz. (1.5 liters) of clean water. Add enough water so that the top of the pump is completely submerged. (See Figure 13).
- Connect the adapter: Attach the A/C adapter jack to the base power cord. Do not plug into the outlet yet. (See Figure 1).
- Position the fountain: Set the fountain on a level, waterproof surface.
- Plug in and operate: Plug the cord into a 120V household outlet. The switch on the power cord controls the fountain. If the pump does not operate, rotate the in-line switch once to turn it "on" and once more to turn it "off". Monthly maintenance will extend your pump's life.
- Create a Drip Loop: Ensure the electrical cord loops below the electrical outlet to form a 'Drip Loop' (See Figure 14). This prevents water from running down the cord into the electrical outlet.

Maintenance
- To clean the pump: Unplug from outlet, remove from base, and use a small brush or water stream to remove debris. (See Figure 15).
- To keep water clean: Periodically change water and clean the product. Keeping water clean prevents stickiness and microorganism growth. Distilled water is recommended to prevent mineral build-up.
- To clean hard water deposits: Soak the base container in a mixture of vinegar and water.
- Maintaining optimum water level: Add water periodically to avoid shortening the pump's life. Never let the pump run dry.
- Fountain Storage: Unplug the fountain, empty the water, and store in a dry, cool place.
- Changing Light Bulb: Unplug the fountain and let the bulb cool. Remove the bulb cover by holding the glass cover in a dry hand and the rubber neck with the other hand; pull apart gently. Replace bulb and re-secure the cover. Handle the bulb cover with care as it is glass. Never pull on the cord.
Caution: All servicing of this fountain must be performed by authorized HoMedics service personnel only.
Troubleshooting
- If the pump fails to operate: Check the circuit breaker or try a different outlet to ensure the pump is receiving power. Always disconnect from the electrical outlet before handling the pump.
- If the pump gurgles, spews, or "burps": Check the water level to ensure the pump has enough water to function.
- Obtaining a desired water level: Check the water level daily for the first week to measure evaporation rate; refill as needed.
- If water is splashing outside the fountain: Adjust the flow control valve on the pump to a lower setting.
