Installation Instructions
Safety and Installation Requirements
Devices must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all national and local electrical and construction codes and regulations.
This applies to all languages and regions, ensuring safe and compliant installation.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Prepare for Mounting
This step involves preparing the wall for the device. The components shown include:
- A back box for wall installation.
- Mounting brackets (x2).
- Screws (x2) for securing components.
- A wall plate.
The diagram illustrates these parts laid out for assembly.
Step 2: Install the Wall Box
The wall box is installed into the wall opening. Key dimensions for the wall box are:
- Height: 88 mm (3.46 in)
- Width: 63 mm (2.48 in)
- Depth: 52 mm (2.05 in)
Additionally, two types of wall plates are shown with their dimensions:
- Plate 1: 88 mm (3.46 in) height x 60 mm (2.36 in) width.
- Plate 2: 88 mm (3.46 in) height x 36 mm (1.41 in) width.
Step 3: Route Wiring
Wiring is routed into the installed wall box. Ensure adequate clearance for wiring:
- Minimum clearance from walls: ≥ 300 mm (11.81 in) horizontally and vertically.
- Minimum clearance from other services: ≥ 0 mm (0 in).
Step 4: Secure the Wall Box
The diagram shows the wall box being secured within the wall structure.
Step 5: Attach the Wall Plate
The wall plate is attached to the wall box, preparing for the final device installation.
Step 6: Connect Wiring
Wiring connections are made to the terminals inside the wall box. Specifications for wiring are:
- Wire Gauge: 0.3-2.5mm² (22-12 AWG)
- Torque: 0.4 Nm (3.5 Lb-in)
The terminals are labeled for specific connections:
- +V (Positive Voltage)
- D- (Data Negative)
- D+ (Data Positive)
- GND (Ground)
- SHLD (Shield)
For SELV/Class 2 (UL) connections, the ratings are 12 V at 35 mA or 24 V at 20 mA. The maximum current for communication wires is ≤ 2 A.
Step 7: Connect RS-485 DyNet
The RS-485 DyNet communication bus is connected. Specifications for these terminals are:
- Torque: 1.0 Nm (8.8 Lb-in)
- Terminals: +V, D-, D+, GND, SHLD
Step 8: Attach the AntumbraButton Front Plate
The front plate of the AntumbraButton, featuring ON/OFF indicators, is attached to complete the device installation.
Step 9: Install RS-485 DyNet Module
The separate RS-485 DyNet module is installed as part of the system.
Technical Specifications and Environmental Conditions
- IEC Pollution Degree: II
- Operating Temperature: -5° C (23° F) to 50° C (122° F)
- Operating Humidity: ≤90% (non-condensing)
