Before You Begin

This cleaner is designed for domestic household cleaning of DRY dirt and dust from carpets, flooring, walls, and fabrics. It is not suitable for industrial use, which will void the manufacturer's warranty.

Please read these instructions thoroughly to ensure you get the best performance from your cleaner. Keep this manual in a handy place for future reference.

Important: Always switch off and unplug the cleaner from the electricity supply before cleaning, maintenance, or when not in use. Ensure the cleaner is connected to an AC supply matching the rating plate voltage. Use only for its intended purpose.

Precautionary Measures:

  1. [hot surface warning] Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters, radiators, or other hot surfaces.
  2. [dry hands warning] Before inserting the plug into the wall, ensure your hands are dry.
  3. [sharp object warning] Before turning on the vacuum cleaner, remove any large or sharp objects from the floor or cleaning surface to prevent damage to the filter.
  4. [pull plug warning] When unplugging from the wall, pull the plug, not the power cable.
  5. [blockage warning] If the hose inlet, combination floor tool, or telescopic tube is blocked, switch off the cleaner immediately, remove from mains power, and clear the blockage before restarting.

Safety Precautions & Warnings

IMPORTANT! Always switch off and unplug the cleaner before cleaning, maintenance, or when not in use. Connect only to an AC power supply matching the rating label. Use only for intended purpose. Never operate without filters.

Basic precautions:

  1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
  2. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  3. [electrical shock warning] Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.

  5. Always check the power cord and plug for damage before use. If damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or qualified personnel to avoid hazards.

  15. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the mains power supply before connecting the hose.
  16. [no filter warning] Do not operate or use the appliance without the dust bin and/or filters in place.
  17. [sharp object warning] Before vacuuming, remove any large or sharp objects from the floor or cleaning surface to prevent filter damage.
  18. [blockage warning] If the hose inlet, floor head, or telescopic tube is blocked, switch off immediately, remove from mains power, and clear the blockage before restarting.
  19. [cord rewind warning] Hold the plug when rewinding the cord. Do not allow the plug to whip.
  20. [cable length warning] Do not extend the power cable beyond the yellow mark.
  21. [unattended warning] Do not leave the appliance unattended when connected to mains power.
  22. [maintenance warning] Before any maintenance or cleaning, switch off and disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the power supply.
  23. Keep openings (hose, tube) away from your face and body.
  24. [damaged appliance warning] Do not use if the cleaner is damaged or breaks down. Check electrical components regularly. Replace damaged cables, hoses, or contacts immediately.
  25. [liquid cleaning warning] Never clean the vacuum cleaner or electrical parts with water or liquid cleaners.
  26. [electrical modification warning] Never attempt electrical modifications to the vacuum cleaner.
  27. Always store the appliance indoors in a cool, dry place.
  28. [water warning] For dry household use only. Do not pick up water.
  29. Damage caused by improper use or failure to follow instructions will void the warranty.

Instructions for Use

WARNING! Always remove the plug from the power socket before fitting or removing accessories.

Assembling the vacuum cleaner:

  1. Insert the hose end into the hose inlet until it clicks into position.
  2. Insert the telescopic tube into the combination floor tool.
  3. Fit the other end of the telescopic tube to the handle.
  4. To rewind the power cable, press the cable rewind button with one hand and guide the cable with the other hand to prevent whipping. Never extend the power cord beyond the yellow mark.
  5. Press the On/Off button to switch the vacuum on.
  6. Rotate the speed control dial to adjust the suction.

Maintenance

WARNING! Ensure the cleaner is not connected to the mains power supply when performing any maintenance duties. Switch off and disconnect from the mains supply. Never operate without filters, as this can cause damage and poor suction.

Emptying the dust container:

  1. To empty the dust bin, press the button on the dust bin handle and lift up.
  2. Push the button at the front of the dust bin to release the base flap.

Cleaning and changing the dust bin filter:

  1. To clean the dust bin filter, turn it anticlockwise and remove it from the dust bin.
  2. Rinse with warm water and allow to dry, or wipe with a cloth.
  3. Reinsert the filter back into the dust bin, turn clockwise to lock, and then close the base flap.
  4. Reinsert the dust bin back into the appliance. A 'click' confirms it is properly secured.

Cleaning or changing the HEPA filter:

  1. The HEPA filter needs to be cleaned after every use or replaced every 6 months.
  2. Remove the dust bin and pull the filter out in a horizontal direction. Replace or rinse with warm water. Allow to dry for 24 hours.

Replacing the exhaust air filter:

  1. Squeeze the dust bin release buttons. Lift the lid and remove the dust bin.
  2. Remove and replace the filter. Return the dust bin and close the front cover.

Conditions of Warranty

Your Hoover cleaner has a one-year parts and labour warranty for domestic use against product defects and failures, provided it is used according to the terms and conditions. The warranty commences from the original purchase date and is not transferable; retain your proof of purchase. It is valid only in the country of purchase.

The cleaner must be used for domestic household cleaning of DRY dirt and dust from carpets, flooring, and fabrics. It is not designed for industrial use or for collecting materials like particle board, cement, fibre glass, or excessive sand, as this may harm the cleaner and void the warranty.

Accessories and consumables (e.g., dust bags, filters) are not covered unless defective in manufacture. Regular care and maintenance are recommended to prolong their life.

Proper use and care ensure excellent service. Misuse or failure to follow instructions voids the warranty.

Transportation costs for repairs are the claimant's responsibility.

Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims; otherwise, service is chargeable. Warranty repairs do not extend the original warranty period.
