Before You Begin
The cleaner is designed for domestic household cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from carpets, flooring, and fabrics. It is not suitable for industrial cleaning or collecting materials like particle board, construction products, wood/fibres, cement, fillers, fibre glass, or excessive sand, as this may harm the cleaner and void the warranty.
Important: Always switch off and unplug the cleaner before performing any maintenance or cleaning. Ensure the cleaner is connected to an AC supply matching the voltage on the rating plate. Never operate the vacuum cleaner without filters.
Precautionary Measures:
- Do not operate the vacuum cleaner near heaters, radiators, or other hot surfaces.
- Ensure your hand is dry before inserting the plug into the wall.
- Remove any large or sharp objects from the floor or cleaning surface before use to prevent filter damage.
- When unplugging, pull the plug from the socket, not the power cable.
- If the air inlet, floor head, or telescopic tube are blocked, switch off the cleaner, disconnect from mains power, clear the blockage, and then attempt to restart.
Warning
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
- Disconnect from the power supply when not in use or before performing maintenance.
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- This appliance is not a toy; do not allow children to use it unattended.
- Use only as described in this manual.
- Do not use if the power cable or plug is damaged. Contact Hoover Customer Care if the cleaner is not working correctly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water.
- Do not pull or carry the appliance by the power cable, use the cable as a handle, or pull it around sharp edges. Avoid running the appliance over the power cable.
- Keep away from heated surfaces.
- Unplug by grasping the plug, not the cable.
- Do not handle the appliance or cable with wet hands.
- Ensure all openings and entry points are clear of objects or blockages before use to improve airflow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and body parts away from openings and entry points.
- Ensure the appliance is switched off before unplugging.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not pick up flammable items or combustible liquids.
- Hold the plug when rewinding the cord to prevent accidental injury.
- Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the mains power supply before connecting the hose.
- Do not use without a dust bag and/or filter in place.
- If the power cable is damaged, contact Hoover Customer Care.
Instructions for Use
Before using, unwind a sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the power socket. A yellow mark on the power cable indicates the ideal length; do not extend beyond the blue mark.
- Press the on/off button to turn the cleaner on.
- To rewind the power cable, press the rewind button with one hand and guide the cable with the other to prevent whipping.
- Slide the speed control to adjust suction.
Connecting the vacuum cleaner:
- Assembling or removing the hose: Insert the flexible hose into the hose inlet on the front of the vacuum cleaner and press until it clicks. To remove, disconnect from power, gently pull the hose while depressing the release buttons.
- Fitting the telescopic tube, accessories and floor head: Remove the plug from the power supply before releasing the hose from the hose inlet. Gently pull the flexible hose while depressing the release buttons. To fit the floor head to the telescopic tube, gently insert the telescopic tube into the top of the floor head.
The adjustable floor head is ideal for cleaning on carpets and hard floors.
Maintenance
Changing the dust bag:
- Always operate the cleaner with a dust bag installed. If not attached correctly, the dust cover may not close fully.
- Steps:
- After removing the hose, open the front cover by lifting the release button.
- Rotate the dust bag support to the correct position.
- Remove the dust bag.
- Replace with a new dust bag.
- Close the cover by pressing down until securely locked.
Cleaning the filter:
- Ensure the cleaner is not connected to the mains power.
- Clean the filter at least twice a year or when visibly dirty.
- Always operate with the filter installed.
- Do not use a washing machine or hair dryer to clean the filter.
- Steps:
- After removing the hose, open the front cover by lifting the release button.
- Rotate the dust bag support to the correct position.
- Remove the dust bag.
- Pull the filter supporter outward.
- Gently remove the filter.
- Rinse the filter in lukewarm water and dry completely before reinstalling.
Changing the filter:
- Steps:
- After removing the hose, open the front cover by lifting the release button.
- Rotate the dust bag support to the correct position.
- Remove the dust bag.
- Pull the filter supporter outward.
- Gently remove the filter.
- Replace with a new filter, ensuring it is securely inserted.
- Replace the dust bag and close the cover by pressing down until securely locked.

Conditions of Warranty
Your Hoover cleaner, for domestic use, comes with a one-year parts and labour warranty against product defects and failures when used according to the terms and conditions. This warranty commences from the original date of purchase and is not transferable. Retain your proof of purchase for warranty claims. The warranty is valid only in the country of purchase.
The cleaner must be used for domestic household cleaning only. It is not designed for industrial cleaning or collecting specific materials that may harm the cleaner or void the warranty.
Accessories and consumables, including dust bags and filters, are not covered by this warranty unless defective in manufacture. Regular care and maintenance are recommended to prolong their life.
Misuse or failure to follow instructions will void the warranty. For service or advice, contact Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited is not responsible for repairs not carried out by an authorized Service Agent or for the use of non-genuine parts. If a part is unavailable, it will be replaced with a genuine functional replacement. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, alterations, improper installation, physical abuse, misuse, or accidental damage. Transportation costs for repairs are the claimant's responsibility.
Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims. Work carried out on the cleaner without proof of purchase is chargeable. This warranty does not extend the original warranty period.
The benefits of this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies under consumer law. Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Consumers are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
