Before You Begin
This cleaner is designed for domestic household cleaning only, removing DRY dirt and dust from carpets, flooring, walls, and fabrics. It is not suitable for industrial use, as this will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Important: Always switch off and unplug the cleaner before performing any maintenance or cleaning. Connect only to an AC supply matching the rating plate voltage. Use only for its intended purpose.

Instructions for Use
WARNING: Always remove the plug from the power socket before fitting or removing accessories.
Assembling the Vacuum Cleaner:
- Insert the hose end into the hose inlet until it clicks into position.
- Attach the telescopic tube to the combination floor tool.
- Connect the other end of the telescopic tube to the vacuum cleaner's handle.
- To rewind the power cable, press the cable rewind button while guiding the cord with the other hand to prevent whipping. Never extend the power cord beyond the yellow mark.
- Press the On/Off button to power the vacuum on.
- Rotate the speed control dial to adjust the suction power.
Maintenance
WARNING: Ensure the cleaner is not connected to the mains power supply when performing maintenance.
Always operate with the dust bag and filters installed. Never operate without filters, as this can damage the cleaner. Empty the dust tank after every use to prevent filter clogging and poor suction.
Changing the Dust Bag:
- When the blockage indicator turns red or suction is low, replace the dust bag or check for blockages in the air channel.
- Open the front cover of the vacuum cleaner.
- Pull the dust bag holder upwards to remove the used dust bag.
- Insert a new dust bag and ensure the bag holder is correctly positioned.
- Close the front cover by pressing down until it locks securely.
Cleaning and Changing the Filters:
- Filters should be cleaned at least twice a year or when visibly soiled.
- Always operate the cleaner with a filter installed. Incorrect procedures can lead to reduced suction or motor damage.
- If the dust bag is fitted wrongly, the bag door may not close properly. Do not force it; reinsert the dust bag correctly.
- Disconnect from the power source before cleaning filters.
- Do not use a washing machine to rinse filters.
- Do not use a hair dryer to dry filters.
Cleaning or Changing the HEPA Filter:
- To clean or change the HEPA filter, pull the dust bag and filter supporter upward to remove the filter.
- Rinse the filter in lukewarm water and allow it to dry completely before reinstallation.
- Place the clean and dry filter back into its designated position within the appliance.
Replacing the Exhaust Air Filter:
- To replace the exhaust air filter, open the front cover and remove the dust bag.
- Firmly grip the HEPA filter tab and pull it out. Replace with a new filter, then re-insert the dust bag and close the front cover.

Conditions of Warranty
Your Hoover Smart, for domestic use, is covered by a one-year warranty against product defects and failures when used according to the terms and conditions stated.
This warranty is provided by Electrical Home-Aids Pty Limited (ABN 62 007 539 577). It commences from the original date of purchase and is not transferable. Original proof of purchase is required for all claims. This warranty is valid only in the country of purchase.
The Hoover Smart must be operated according to these instructions and used only for domestic cleaning of dry dirt and dust. It is not designed for industrial use or for collecting materials like particle board, construction products, wood fibres, cement, fillers, fibreglass, or excessive sand, as this may harm the cleaner and void the warranty.
Accessories and consumables (dust bags, filters) are not covered unless defective in manufacture. Regular care and maintenance are recommended to prolong their life.
Misuse or failure to follow instructions in the manual voids the warranty.

Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Ltd. reserves the right to repair or replace the cleaner at its discretion. Any transportation costs for warranty claims are the claimant's responsibility.
Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited is not responsible for repairs not carried out by an authorized Service Agent or for defects arising from the use of non-genuine parts. Replacement parts will be genuine functional parts. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, alterations, improper installation, physical abuse, misuse, or accidental damage.
Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims; otherwise, work will be at the claimant's cost.
Repairs do not extend the original warranty period. Replacements are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period. Statutory rights may still apply.
The benefits of this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies under Australian consumer law.
Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure is not major.
