Before You Begin
This cleaner is designed for domestic household cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from carpets, flooring, walls, and fabrics. It is not intended for industrial use, as this will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Please read these instructions thoroughly to ensure you obtain full benefit from your new cleaner. Keep this manual in a handy place for future reference.
Important Notes:
Always switch off and unplug the cleaner from the electricity supply before cleaning, when not in use, or performing maintenance. Connect only to an AC supply matching the rating plate voltage. Use only for its intended purpose.
Precautionary Measures:
- Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters, radiators, or other hot surfaces. [heat-warning]

Safety Precautions & Warnings
⚡ DANGER: Live Parts Within ⚡ IMPORTANT! Always switch off the wall outlet, cleaner, and remove the plug from the electricity power supply before cleaning, when not in use, or attempting any maintenance. The cleaner must only be connected to an AC power supply at the voltage shown on the rating label. Never operate the vacuum cleaner without filters.
General Safety:
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- To prevent electrical shock, do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug into water or other liquids.
- Do not use the vacuum cleaner outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Always check the power cord and plug before use; they must be in good condition. If damaged or defective, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or qualified persons to avoid hazards.
- Ensure the wall outlet and appliance are switched off before unplugging.
- Do not unplug by pulling the power cord; grasp the plug. Use only Australian and New Zealand electrical safety approved extension cords.
- Do not pull or carry the appliance by the power cable, use the power cable as a handle, or pull it around sharp edges or corners. Avoid running the appliance over the power cable.
- Do not handle or operate the appliance with wet hands. Follow electrical safety precautions at all times.
- Exercise extreme caution when using the appliance on stairs.
- Do not attempt to change attachments while the appliance is plugged in. Switch off and unplug first. Use only manufacturer's recommended accessories.
- Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters, radiators, and other hot surfaces.
- Do not use the appliance to pick up flammable items or combustible liquids (e.g., petrol, hot ashes, cigarettes, matches, explosive materials) or use in areas where such substances may be present.
- Do not use the appliance to pick up toxic materials (e.g., chlorine bleach, ammonia).
- Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the mains power supply before connecting the hose.
- Do not operate or use the appliance without the dust bag and/or filters in place.
- Before vacuuming, remove large or sharp objects from the floor or cleaning surface to prevent filter damage.
- If the hose inlet, floor head, or telescopic tube is blocked, switch off immediately and remove from mains power. Clear the blockage before attempting to start again.
- Hold the plug when rewinding onto the cord reel to prevent accidental injury. Do not allow the plug to whip.
- Do not extend the power cable beyond the yellow mark.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended when connected to a mains power supply.
- Before any maintenance or cleaning filters, always switch off the wall outlet, vacuum cleaner, and disconnect the plug from power supply.
- Keep ends of the hose, telescopic tube, and other openings away from your face and body.
- Do not use the vacuum cleaner if it is damaged or breaks down. Check electrical parts regularly for defects. If cables, hoses, contacts, or tubes are damaged, have them replaced immediately.
- Never clean the vacuum cleaner or electrical parts, especially connections, with water or liquid cleaners.
- Never attempt to make electrical modifications to the vacuum cleaner.
- Always store the appliance indoors in a cool and dry place.
- Do not pick up water; this is for dry household use only.
- Damage caused by improper use or failure to observe instructions will void the warranty.
Assembly
WARNING! Always switch off the cleaner before fitting or removing accessories.
Assembling the vacuum cleaner:

Using the Vacuum Cleaner

- To turn off the vacuum, press the On/Off Button. Unplug the power cable from the power supply. To rewind the power cable, press the cable rewind button with one hand and guide the cable with the other hand to ensure it does not whip and cause damage. Turbo Head
The Turbo Head is designed for pet hair removal on carpets and rugs.
Safety Precautions for Turbo Head:
- Keep hair, hands, and feet away from the rotating brush while the turbo head is operating.
- The turbo brush will operate whenever it is connected to a running vacuum. If children are present, do not leave the vacuum unattended.
- Do not attempt to service or unclog the turbo brush while the unit is running.

Maintenance

Vacuum Cleaner Storage
When not in use, ensure the cleaner is disconnected from the power supply and the cable is fully retracted.
Emptying the Dust Bin:
- Press the Dust Bin Release Button to remove the dust bin from the cleaner. Note: The dust bin should be emptied before dust and debris reaches the "MAX" line. [Image: Hand pressing the Dust Bin Release Button]

- Turn the filter cone anti-clockwise to clean.
- Hold the dust bin over a rubbish bin and press the Dust Release Button to empty the dust bin.
Cleaning and Replacing the Pre-Motor Filter:
Caution: To avoid damaging the dust bin, remove it from the cleaner before cleaning or replacing the dust bin filter.

- The filter can be cleaned using lukewarm water. Alternatively, it can be replaced with a new filter.
- Caution: Ensure the filter is dry before reinstalling back into the cleaner.
- Note: It is recommended to replace the filter every 6 months or when it becomes visibly dirty.
Cleaning and Replacing the Exhaust HEPA Filter:
The exhaust HEPA filter is installed behind the exhaust grill. This HEPA filter is washable. When dust or dirt is visible on the surface, the filter should be replaced or washed with lukewarm water to maintain efficient suction.
Note: It is recommended to replace the HEPA filter every 6 months or when it becomes visibly dirty.

Troubleshooting

Warranty Information
Conditions of warranty: Your Hoover Paws & Claws, for domestic use, has a one-year warranty against product defects and failures when used in accordance with the terms and conditions.
This warranty is provided by Electrical Home-Aids Pty Limited. It commences from the original date of purchase and is not transferable. Proof of purchase is required for claims. This warranty is valid only in the country of purchase.
The Hoover Paws & Claws must be operated according to these instructions and used only for domestic household cleaning of DRY dirt and dust. It is not designed for industrial use or for collecting building materials, construction products, wood/fibres, cement, fillers, fibreglass, or excessive sand. The infrequent pick-up of these materials may harm the cleaner and void the warranty.
Accessories and consumables (including dust bags and filters), unless defective in manufacture, are not covered by this warranty. Regular care and maintenance are recommended to prolong their life.
Misuse or failure to follow instructions voids this warranty. For service, advice, or warranty claims, stop using the cleaner and contact Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Ltd. reserves the right to repair or replace the cleaner at its discretion. Transportation costs for warranty claims are borne by the claimant.
Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited is not responsible for repairs not carried out by an authorized Service Agent or for defects arising from the use of non-genuine parts. If a part is unavailable, it will be replaced with a genuine functional replacement. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, alterations, improper installation, physical abuse, misuse, or accidental damage.
Work carried out without proof of purchase will be at the claimant's cost. Warranty repairs do not extend the original warranty period. Replacements are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies under consumer laws, including the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality.
