Refrigeration System

Refrigerant: R-454B (Low GWP, Zero ODP, Low Toxicity/Lower Flammability - A2L)
Outdoor Coil: Aluminum fins bonded to copper tubes.
Outdoor Fan: Direct drive fan for uniform airflow and high refrigeration capacity. Fan guard provided.
Refrigerant Line Connections: Flare connections on unit cabinet. Fully serviceable brass service valves. Suction and liquid extension pipes furnished.

Indoor Refrigerant Detection System (RDS)

Complies with UL 60335-2-40 standard.
Required for all systems using R-454B refrigerant.
Detects R-454B refrigerant, stops compressor, and operates blower to reduce concentrations for safe operation.

Compressor

Variable Frequency Rotary Compressor: High efficiency, balanced for reduced vibration and quiet operation. Uses powerful Neodymium magnets.
Compressor Crankcase Heater: Protects against liquid refrigerant migration during low ambient operation.

Controls

DC Inverter Control: Adjusts capacity based on room temperature for efficient operation.
Inverter Module Protection: Protects against electrical differences and indicates servicing needs.
Outdoor Unit Microprocessor: Controls electronic expansion valve, compressor timed-off protection, temperature sensors, and reversing valve. Displays error codes via LEDs.
Electronic Expansion Valve: Controls refrigerant flow for heating.
Compressor Overcurrent Protection: Protects against high ambient temperature, locked rotor, or blocked airflow.
Condenser High Temperature Protection: Monitors outdoor coil temperature and adjusts compressor operation to prevent overheating.
Compressor Discharge Temperature Protection: Monitors compressor discharge line temperature and adjusts operation to prevent overheating.
Voltage Protection: Protects against low or high voltage fluctuations.
Terminal Strip: Facilitates easy wiring connections.
Defrost Control: Automatically initiates defrost cycle when frost builds up on the outdoor coil. Outdoor fan is off during defrost. An indicator LED on the indoor unit panel illuminates.
Reversing Valve: 4-way valve for quick changeover between heating and cooling modes.

Remote Outdoor Temperature Sensor

Front and Back: Minimum 6 in. (152 mm) on back, Minimum 20 in. (508 mm) on front.
Top (With Barriers): Minimum 6 in. (152 mm) clearance required if barriers are present.
Back and Side (With Barriers): Minimum 40 in. (1016 mm) clearance required if barriers are present.

Note: Top and two sides of the unit must be exposed to open space. Any barriers on one side of the front or back must be lower than unit height.

AHRI Standard 210/240-2023

Standard ratings for cooling or heating capacities are net values, including the effects of circulating-fan heat, but not including supplementary electric heat. Power input used for calculating efficiency is the Total Power.

For units without indoor air-circulating fans, ratings are adjusted by subtracting 1,505 Btu/h per 1,000 SCFM for cooling and adding the same amount for heating (for non-mobile-home, non-Space Constrained units). Total Power for both heating and cooling is increased by 441 W per 1,000 SCFM of indoor air circulated.
