Quantum™ Coil: Lennox designed and fabricated, enhanced aluminum alloy tube/enhanced fin coil, superior corrosion resistance, ripple-edged aluminum fins, aluminum tube construction, lanced fins for maximum fin surface exposure, fin collars grip tubing, flared shoulder tubing connections, factory tested under high pressure, accessible for cleaning.
High Capacity Liquid Line Drier: Factory installed, traps moisture or dirt, 100% molecular-sieve, bead type, bi-flow drier.
High Pressure Switch: Protects system from high pressure conditions, automatic reset.
Four-Way Reversing Valve: Rapid changeover of refrigerant flow direction, operates on pressure differential.
Variable Speed Compressor: Rotary compressor (024 and 036 models), Scroll compressor (048 and 060 models), high volumetric efficiency, uniform suction flow, constant discharge flow, quiet operation, low gas pulses, internally protected, resilient rubber mounts.
DC Inverter Control: Converts AC to DC voltage, provides continuous compressor operation, adjusts capacity in 1% increments, Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit, two LEDs for status, noise filter reduces EMI.

REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

Refrigerant: R-410A, non-chlorine, ozone friendly.
Unit Charge: Factory pre-charged. Total system charge depends on outdoor unit size, indoor unit size, and refrigerant line length. Refer to unit-mounted charging sticker.
Discharge Temperature Switch: Shuts off unit if discharge line temperature rises above setpoint, protects compressor, automatic reset.
Low Pressure Transducer: Shuts off unit if suction pressure falls below setting, provides loss of charge and freeze-up protection, automatic reset.
Expansion Valve: Outdoor unit, designed and sized for heat pump system, senses suction temperature.

PRECISE COMFORT® TECHNOLOGY

The Variable Capacity Rotary Compressor and DC Inverter Control work together to reduce energy usage compared to conventional heat pumps.

Compressor Crankcase Heater: Factory installed, protects against refrigerant migration during low ambient operation.
Compressor Sound Dampening System: Polyethylene compressor, 2 inch thick fiberglass insulation, sealed edges.

CONTROLS

Lennox® Communicating Control: Advanced control system for optimal comfort, performance, and efficiency. Connects to Lennox® Communicating Thermostats. Auto configuration, seven-segment display, low voltage protection, pressure switch monitoring, lockout protection, liquid line temperature monitoring, EEPROM storage, alarm code storage, built-in low-ambient control.
Low Ambient Operation: Cooling mode down to 0°F outdoor air. Heating mode operates down to -4°F, continues until thermostat is satisfied or drops to -15°F.
Climate IQ™ Technology: Optimizes dehumidification settings for improved home comfort. Monitors regional weather conditions.
Lennox® Communicating Thermostat Settings: Includes Dry, Moderate, and Humid modes for cooling, and Normal and Comfort modes for heating. Climate IQ (Auto) adjusts modes based on humidity.
Outdoor Air Temperature Sensor: Used with Lennox® Communicating Thermostats to display outdoor temperature.

Wiring configurations vary based on the thermostat type:

A - Two Wire Power
B - Two or Three Wire Power (size to heater capacity)
C - Lennox® Communicating Thermostat: Four Wire, 18AWG (RSBus)
C - Conventional Thermostat: Eight Wire Low Voltage, 18AWG or Ten Wire Low Voltage, 18AWG with Optional Outdoor Thermostat
D - Lennox® Communicating Thermostat: Four Wire, 18 to 22AWG (RSGBus) standard thermostat cable.
D - Conventional Thermostat: Twelve Wire Low Voltage, 18AWG or Fourteen Wire Low Voltage, 18AWG with Optional Outdoor Thermostat

NOTE: All wiring must conform to NEC or CEC and local electrical codes. Field wiring is not furnished.

INSTALLATION CLEARANCES

Specific clearances are required for proper operation and servicing:

Service clearance of 30 in. (762 mm) on the side adjacent to the control box.
Clearance to one of the other three sides must be 36 in. (914 mm).
Clearance to one of the remaining two sides may be 12 in. (305 mm).
The final side may be 6 in. (152 mm).
A clearance of 24 in. (610 mm) between two units.
48 in. (1219 mm) clearance required on top of the unit.

NOTE: CX35 and CHX35 coils and Lennox air handlers are shipped with a factory installed TXV. If a change out is required, refer to the TXV SUBSTITUTION table. The correct TXV must be ordered separately and field installed.

AHRI STANDARD 210/240-2023

Standard Ratings are for cooling or heating capacities, including effects of circulating-fan heat, but not supplementary electric heat. Power input is used for calculating efficiency.

For units without indoor fans, ratings are adjusted by subtracting/adding 1,505 Btu/h per 1,000 SCFM.
