Features
Applications
Designed for outdoor installations at ground level or rooftop for residential applications. Units are not approved for zoning applications.
Refrigeration System
- R-454B Refrigerant: Low GWP, Zero ODP, Low Toxicity/Lower Flammability (A2L). Unit is factory pre-charged.
- Indoor and Outdoor Coils: Copper tube with aluminum fin coils.
- Anti-Microbial Indoor Coil Drain Pan: Resists mold and mildew, improves indoor air quality, reduces blockages. Includes drain pan overflow switch. Fully insulated to reduce condensation.
- Outdoor Coil Fan: Weather protected, heavy-duty motor with coated steel fan blades and corrosion-resistant guard. Internally mounted, totally enclosed motor.
- Four-Way Reversing Valve: Rapid changeover between cooling and heating based on pressure differential. Factory installed.
- High Pressure Switch: Protects system from high pressure conditions; automatic reset.
- Loss of Charge Switch: Shuts off unit if suction pressure falls too low, protecting against loss of charge and freeze-up.

Compressor
- Two-Stage Scroll Compressor: High volumetric efficiency, uniform suction flow, constant discharge flow, quiet operation.
- Compressor Operation: Utilizes two involute spiral scrolls to compress gas in stages, achieving modulation by venting gas. Controlled by a 24-volt DC solenoid valve for staging (full-load or ~67% capacity). Loading/unloading is done "on the fly". Low gas pulses reduce operational sound. Motor is internally protected. Mounted on resilient rubber mounts for sound dampening.
Optional Accessories (Compressor)
- Compressor Crankcase Heater: Protects against refrigerant migration during low ambient operation.
- Compressor Hard Start Kit: May be required for low voltage conditions to increase starting torque.
- Compressor Timed-Off Control: Prevents short-cycling by allowing pressure equalization before restart (5-minute delay).
- Low Ambient Kit (40°F): Cycles outdoor fan to allow compressor operation in cooling mode at lower temperatures without icing. Requires crankcase heater and freezestat.
Supply Air Blower
- Direct Drive Blower: Statically and dynamically balanced.
- ECM Variable Speed Blower Motor: Multi-speed operation via ECM motor for consistent air volume across static pressure range. Controlled by blower control; speed is adjustable via jumper pins. Motor is resiliently mounted.
Indoor Air Quality (Option)
- Healthy Climate® PCO Accessory: Uses photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) technology to reduce airborne VOCs, odors. Mounted internally. Kit includes PCO cartridge, UVA lamp, etc. Cannot be used with Internal Filter Rack Kit.
