BE COOL e-Scooter eSC-Hi2 Operation Manual

Congratulations on choosing a BE COOL product. This manual provides essential information for the safe operation and maintenance of your e-Scooter eSC-Hi2.

1. Safety Instructions

Please read this manual carefully before operating or servicing your scooter. Protect yourself and others by following the safety instructions. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or property damage.

The exclamation mark within a triangle ⚠️ indicates important instructions or statements regarding operation and maintenance. Please read them carefully.

Warnings:

  • To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Repairs should only be performed by qualified service personnel.

Kick-Starter:

The scooter requires a kick-start. You must push off with your foot to get moving before using the throttle to accelerate.

General Safety Notes:

  • Do not ride in rain or wet conditions; the unit is NOT WATERPROOF. Damage caused by water is excluded from the warranty.
  • Do not use the scooter for jumps or stunts.
  • Do not use in slippery conditions.
  • Do not use under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Avoid paths with obstacles such as branches, rubbish, or stones.
  • Avoid steep inclines.
  • Do not ride faster than recommended.
  • Do not overload the device beyond its permitted limit.
  • Persons with visual balance, coordination, reflex, muscle, or bone problems MUST NOT use this vehicle.
  • Children under 10 years are NOT allowed to use the device. Children aged 10-12 may use the scooter only with a bicycle driving license and under the supervision of an adult at least 16 years old, provided they receive detailed instructions on safe usage and are informed of the dangers. Helmets are compulsory for children up to 12 years of age.
  • Do not ride the scooter during pregnancy.
  • Braking distance increases proportionally with higher speeds and bodyweight.
  • Never get on or off the scooter with a jump.
  • Be careful when driving in the dark or in poorly lit areas.
  • Do not exceed or fall below the stated weight limit.
  • Avoid driving in dangerous places that could cause fire or explosion accidents (e.g., near flammable gases, vapours, liquids, dust, or fibres).
  • Follow all national and local laws applicable to your region.
  • Drive on sight and always be ready to brake.
  • Using a different charger may damage the unit and pose risks.
  • Avoid completely discharging the battery. Charge when at least one bar remains to prolong battery life.
  • Place the battery away from fire or corrosive environments while charging, as it is classified as flammable and explosive.
  • Do not attempt to open the battery housing. Contact the Service Centre if damage is noticed.
  • Do not charge the unit in direct sunlight or near open flames.
  • The scooter must not be used while charging.
  • Riding the scooter is at your own risk and responsibility. Not all hazards are covered in this manual.

Battery Deep Discharge Warning:

Battery life and performance depend on age, care, and usage. Lithium-ion batteries have low self-discharge and require periodic charging. If not used for over 30 days, charge for at least 1 hour every 2 months to maintain capacity and prevent deep discharge. A deeply discharged battery is irreparably damaged and must be replaced at the owner's expense. Never fully discharge the battery, even during operation.

7. Folding and Carrying

Ensure the e-scooter is switched off. Open the folding device, fold down the handlebar, and secure it by hooking it onto the ring on the mudguard. After folding, the scooter can be carried easily. Be careful not to hit obstacles or people.

8. Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning:

For surface dirt, use a soft cloth dipped in a small amount of water. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other volatile chemical solvents, as they can damage the scooter's appearance and structure. Do not use a pressure washer. Ensure the scooter is off, the charging port cover is secured, and the charger is unplugged to prevent electric shock or water damage.

Storage:

Store indoors in a dry, cool place. Avoid long-term outdoor storage. Sunlight and extreme temperatures can accelerate tire aging and reduce battery life.

Battery Maintenance:

  • Use only the original charger.
  • Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations to protect the environment.
  • Charge the battery fully before storage to extend its lifespan.
  • Avoid exposing the battery to temperatures above 40°C or below -10°C.
  • Avoid complete battery discharge. For extended storage (over 30 days), charge fully and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 60 days.
  • Battery performance may decrease in cold temperatures (below 0°C).
  • Note: Fully charged batteries discharge over 60-90 days. Incomplete charging shortens this period. Failure to charge promptly can lead to irreparable damage.
  • Only authorized service workshops may disassemble the battery.
