Dock Setup

Select a permanent location for the Charging Dock. Place the dock with its back against a wall on a level surface in a central area. Ensure there are no baseboards or heating elements directly behind it. Remove any objects closer than 3 feet from either side or 5 feet from the front of the dock. Plug in the dock; the indicator light will illuminate green when powered.

Charging

The Shark® AI Robot has a pre-installed rechargeable battery. Charge the battery completely before first use (up to 6 hours). To charge, place the robot on the dock with the Power button ON (I). The robot will beep when charging begins.

If the robot cannot return to the dock or has no charge, manually place it on the dock. The dock light will turn blue, and the robot will beep. Ensure charging contacts align. While charging, white LED lights flash; they become steady when charging is complete.

When cleaning is complete, the battery is low, or programmed for recharge/resume, the robot will search for the dock. If it doesn't return, the charge may have run out.

Installing the Side Brushes

Snap the 2 included Side Brushes onto the square pegs on the bottom of the robot.

Buttons and Indicator Lights

Clean Button: Press to start or stop a cleaning session.

Dock Button: Press to stop cleaning and send the robot back to the charging dock.

Charge Indicator Lights: Show remaining battery charge.

"!" Error Indicator: Refer to the Troubleshooting section for error codes.

Wi-Fi Indicator: White light = connected; Red light = not connected; Flashing White = setup mode; No light = not set up.

Recharge & Resume: Press and hold the CLEAN button for 15 seconds to turn this feature ON or OFF. This feature is useful for homes larger than 1500 sq. ft. to allow the robot to recharge and resume cleaning.

Prep Your Home

Prepare your home for optimal cleaning by clearing obstacles and setting up no-go zones in the app.

  • Obstructions: Clear cords and objects smaller than 2.8" in height from floors and open interior doors for a complete map.
  • Thresholds: The robot can climb most thresholds. Use no-go zones for very high ones.
  • Stairs: Cliff sensors prevent falls. Ensure rugs/carpets are at least 8 inches from stairs or extend over the edge.
  • Avoid Moving Robot & Dock: Do not move the robot or dock during cleaning, as it impacts navigation and return-to-dock functionality.

Scheduling: Use the app to schedule whole-home cleaning runs.

Using the Shark® AI Robot (IQ Navigation™ and AI Laser Vision)

After setup, the robot performs an Explore Run to create an initial map. It navigates using sensors and AI Laser Vision to identify walls, furniture, and obstacles. Object detection technology helps it avoid obstacles taller than 2.8".

Manual Cleaning Mode: Press the Clean button on the robot or app to start. Press the Dock button to send it back to the dock.

Note: Fully charge the robot before the first cleaning for optimal mapping and cleaning performance.

Using the SharkClean™ App and Voice Controls

The SharkClean™ app offers features like Recharge & Resume, Go Zones/No-Go Zones, Scheduling, Control From Anywhere, and Cleaning Reports. Download the app from your app store.

Voice Control Setup: Follow instructions at sharkclean.com/app to enable Shark Skill for Amazon Alexa and use with Google Assistant. Example commands are provided for both.

Wi-Fi Troubleshooting: Ensure your phone is on a 2.4GHz network. Do not use VPN/proxy. Turn off Wi-Fi isolation on your router if needed. Contact support if connection issues persist.

Maintenance

Always turn off the power before performing maintenance.

Emptying the Dust Bin

Press the Dust Bin Release Button, slide out the dust bin. Press and hold the button on the lid to open it. Empty debris into trash. Wash the bin if necessary. Ensure the bin clicks into place when reinserted.

Cleaning and Replacing the Filter

For optimal suction, clean the filter after each use. Tap to remove debris. Rinse with water monthly and air-dry for up to 24 hours. Reinsert the filter into the dust bin, then slide the bin back into the robot.

Self-Cleaning Brushroll

The brushroll actively removes hair wrap. If debris remains, run the robot to allow self-cleaning. If hair/debris persists, carefully remove it. Access the brushroll by lifting the door. Remove debris from the brushroll. Reinstall the brushroll (flat end first) and close the door until it clicks.

Note: Replace brushroll every 6-12 months or when visibly worn.

Cleaning Sensors and Charging Contacts

Gently dust sensors and contacts on the bottom of the robot and dock with a dry cloth. Clean sensors regularly for best performance.

Cleaning the Wheels

Periodically clean the front wheel housing and drive wheels. Rotate the wheels while dusting away dirt and debris.

Cleaning Side Brushes

Unwind and remove any hair/string from brushes. Wipe with a dry cloth. Reinstall by snapping onto pegs and spinning manually to ensure correct installation. Remove and replace bent or damaged brushes.

Replacement Parts

Available parts include: Washable Filter, Robot Dust Bin, Brushroll, Battery, Brushroll Door, Side Brushes, Charging Dock.

Troubleshooting

If error lights appear, consult the chart for error codes and solutions. Common issues include suction motor failure, robot stuck, jammed bumper, BotBoundary error, cliff sensor error, dust bin issues, stuck side brush/drive wheel, wheel motor encoder failure, brushroll blockage, boot errors, and inability to locate dock.
