Prepare Your Home
Your robot uses sensors to navigate around obstacles. Proper home preparation ensures efficient cleaning and mapping.
- Obstructions: Clear cords and small objects from floors. Open doors to ensure a complete map of your home.
- Scheduling: For a constant state of clean, set up a cleaning schedule in the app.
- Thresholds: Your robot may have difficulty clearing thresholds higher than 7/8ths of an inch. Block off high thresholds with BotBoundary strips (sold separately).
- Stairs: The robot's cliff sensors prevent it from falling off ledges. For proper function, ensure all runners, rugs, or carpets are at least 8 inches from any stairs or extend over the edge of the stairs. Do not place BotBoundary strips near stairs or cliffs. Do not place strips on top of one another.
- Avoid Moving the Robot & Dock: Do not pick up or move the robot or charging base while it is cleaning or mapping. This can disrupt the mapping process and prevent the robot from returning to the base. If the robot or base must be moved, return the robot to within 6 inches of its last location.
- Check Base Fill Level: During the first few weeks, the robot may empty more often. Check the base dust bin fill level regularly. It is designed to hold up to 15 days of debris, but this can vary by home environment.
