KitchenAid KCG8433 Coffee Grinder: Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

Step 1: Add Beans and Prepare Hopper
Add whole coffee beans to the top hopper. Place the Top hopper lid onto the Top hopper.
For grinding into the Bottom hopper: Open the Rubber stopper and slide the Bottom hopper into position.

Step 2: Prepare for Portafilter Grinding
To grind into a portafilter: Remove the Grounds catcher tray and then the Portafilter holder. Insert the Portafilter holder into the Portafilter holder guide. Replace the Grounds catcher tray.
Use the Portafilter holder to insert the Portafilter (along the top guides for 54 mm or into the middle guides for 58 mm).

Step 3: Select Grind Size
Refer to the brew method icons on the machine. Rotate the Grind size knob to select a grind size within the brew method range you are using. The selected grind size will be shown on the display.
Grind Size Range: 1 (Coarse) to 70 (Fine).
Display Example: Grind Size: [value], Cups/Shots: [value], Grind Time: [value]
Controls: Program Start/Stop [button], More [button], Less [button]

Step 4: Select Coffee Dose
Rotate the Dose selection knob to choose the number of cups or shots.
For French press, Perc, Drip coffee: Select between 1-12 cups.
For Espresso: Select between 1 - 2 shots.
Display Example: Grind Size: [value], Cups/Shots: [value], Grind Time: [value]
Controls: Program Start/Stop [button]

Step 5: Start Grinding and Adjust Time
Press Start/Stop to begin grinding. The grinder will stop automatically when the time reaches 0 on the display.
If desired, rotate the Time adjustment knob to customize the desired amount of coffee for a particular selected dose.
