Installation Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Vehicle ECU for Sleep Mode

Place your vehicle's ECU in sleep mode. Follow these steps:

  • If the engine is cold: Open the hood, close the doors, lock the car, and wait 30 seconds.
  • If the engine is warm: Open the hood, close the doors, lock the car, and wait 20 minutes.
  • If the engine is warm and you cannot wait 20 minutes: Disconnect the vehicle battery.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do not open vehicle doors while sensors are disconnected or before connecting the SCORCHER BLUE MODULE. Doing so will trigger a Check Engine Light.

Step 2: Locate MAP Sensor

The MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor is located on the firewall side of the intake manifold. Its connector is gray.

Step 3: Locate Injector Plug Connectors

Identify the two injector plug connectors situated next to the engine valve covers. These connectors are typically long and light blue.

Step 4: Disconnect MAP Sensor

Press down on the locking tab of the MAP sensor connector and slide the connector out of the sensor.

Step 5: Connect MAP Sensor Jumper Harness

Locate the longer jumper harness on the aFe POWER harness, which has gray connectors. Connect the female connector of the aFe POWER harness to the MAP sensor. Then, connect the male connector of the aFe POWER harness to the engine harness's female connector.

Step 6: Verify MAP Sensor Harness Connection

Refer to the provided image (Figure D) to ensure both the male and female sides of the aFe POWER harness are fully plugged in.

Step 7: Disconnect Front Fuel Rail Connector

Step 9: Verify Front Injector Plug Harness Connection

Refer to the provided image (Figure F) to confirm that the connectors are fully engaged. A snapping sound usually indicates a secure connection.

Step 10: Disconnect Rear Fuel Rail Connector

Locate and disconnect the rear fuel rail connector. Foam insulation may need to be removed for easier access. The disconnection process is similar to the front fuel rail connector.

Step 11: Connect Rear Injector Plug Jumper Harness

Locate the rear injector plug jumper harness on the aFe POWER module, labeled "Fly Wheel". Plug the female connector of the module into the stock injector plug connector. Then, connect the male connector of the module to the engine harness's female connector.

The installation of the module is now complete. Continue reading to learn how to use all of its features.

LED Switch Operation

When the vehicle is turned on, each LED on the switch will flash and then stop at its last setting. The LED color represents the different levels of power:
