1. Downloading & Installing the "Smart Life" app
About the Smart Life app:
- You need to create a "Smart Life" account to control your heat pump remotely.
- The "Smart Life" app allows you to control your home appliances from anywhere. You can add and control multiple devices simultaneously.
- It is compatible with Amazon Echo and Google Home (depending on the country).
- You can share your devices with other Smart Life accounts.
- Receive real-time operational alerts.
- Create scenarios with multiple devices, utilizing the app's weather data (geolocation is required).
- For more information, consult the "Help" section within the "Smart Life" app.
The "Smart Life" app and its services are provided by Hangzhou Tuya Technology. Poolstar, as the owner and distributor of the Poolex brand, is not responsible for the operation of the "Smart Life" app. Poolstar has no visibility into your "Smart Life" account.

Search for "Smart Life" in the App Store to download the app.

2. Setting up the app
WARNING: Before you begin, ensure the "Smart Life" app is downloaded, your heat pump is connected to your local WiFi network, and the heat pump is electrically powered and running.
You must create a "Smart Life" account to control your heat pump remotely. If you already have a Smart Life account, please log in and proceed directly to Step 3.
Step 1: Create Account
Click "Create new account" and choose to register by "Email" or "Phone". A verification code will be sent to you.
Enter your email address or phone number and click "Send verification code".

Step 2: Validate Account
Enter the verification code received by email or phone to validate your account.
Congratulations! You are now part of the "Smart Life" community.
Step 3: Add an Object
(Recommended) Click "..." and then "Add Object". Name the object (e.g., "Pool") and click "Done".

Step 4: Add a Device
Click "Add" or "+" and then select "Large appliances..." followed by "Water heater".
At this point, keep your smartphone on the "Add" screen and proceed to the pairing step for your control box.

3. Pairing the heat pump
3.1 EZ Mode
Step 1: Start Pairing
Choose your home WiFi network, enter the WiFi password, and press "Confirm".
Step 2: Activate Pairing Mode
Activate the pairing mode on your heat pump according to the following procedure, which depends on your control box model:
CAUTION: The "Smart Life" application supports only 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If your WiFi network uses the 5GHz frequency, go to your home WiFi network's interface to create a second 2.4GHz WiFi network (available for most Internet boxes, routers, and WiFi access points).
Pairing Method 1
Control panel display shows temperature, mode icons, and buttons labelled '+', 'M'.
Press '+' and 'M' simultaneously for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator will flash quickly, indicating the control unit is ready to be paired.
Pairing Method 2

Press '+' and '-' simultaneously for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator will flash quickly, indicating the control box is ready to be paired.
Pairing Method 3

Press '+' and 'M' simultaneously for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator will flash quickly, indicating the control box is ready to be paired.
Pairing Method 4

Press '+' and 'M' simultaneously for 3 seconds. The WiFi indicator will flash quickly, indicating the control box is ready to be paired.
Pairing Method 5

Press '+' and 'M' simultaneously for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator will flash quickly, indicating the control box is ready to be paired.
Pairing Method 6

Press '+' and 'M' simultaneously for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator will flash quickly, indicating the control box is ready to be paired.
Note: The flashing indicator stops when the box is successfully connected to WiFi.
The pairing is successful. You can rename your Poolex heat pump and press "Done".
Congratulations, your heat pump can now be controlled from your smartphone.

Configure Operating Ranges
Step 1: Create Schedule
Choose the time, day(s) of the week, and the action (turn on or off), then save.

Step 2: Delete Time Slot
To delete a time slot, press and hold it.
Choice of Operating Modes
For On/Off heat pumps: Choose between Auto, Heating, or Cooling modes.
For Inverter heat pumps: Choose between Inverter Heating, Inverter Cooling, Eco (Silent), or On/Off (Manual) modes.
- Available modes for On/Off: Auto, Cooling, Heating.
- Available modes for Inverter: Inverter heating*, Inverter cooling*, On/Off (FIX)*, Eco Inverter*, Silent Mode.
*Some modes may vary depending on the specific machine.
