Important Information
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may be discharged during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (e.g., dim display), the battery needs to be replaced at the nearest authorized CASIO service center or CASIO dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Adjusting the crown underwater.
- Turning the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Classification
Watches are classified by water resistance levels (from I to V) according to their degree of protection against water. Check your watch's classification in the table below to determine its proper usage.
* Class | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, Sweat | Swimming, Light Washing | Scuba Diving, Snorkeling | Diving with Air Tank |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Class I watches are not water-resistant. Avoid exposure to any moisture.
Explanation of Water Resistance Levels:
- WR (Water Resistant) (Class II) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- 5 Bar (50 meters) (Class III) means the watch can withstand the specified water pressure and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 meters) (Class IV) means the watch can be used for normal swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 meters) (Class V) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Care for Your Watch
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although designed for active daily use, wear the watch carefully and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- For cleaning the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use easily evaporating substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, aerosol cleaners, etc.).
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid exposure to gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some models feature silk-screened graphics on the strap. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the designs.
For Watches with Plastic Straps
- You may find a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of plastic straps to sweat or moisture, or storing them in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for plastic straps, wipe them clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other wet surface can cause the fluorescent color to discolor. Check if moisture has been removed from the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface may transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
Temperature Fluctuations
In conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
