Introduction to Timex IQ+ Move

The Timex IQ+ Move timepiece combines the classic analog watch design with advanced fitness and health tracking capabilities. It monitors steps, distance, calories, and sleep, providing a comprehensive overview of daily activity.

Minimum Requirements

This watch requires a compatible iOS or Android smartphone and the Timex Connected smartphone app. Download the Timex Connect mobile app from www.timex.com/getstarted.

Watch Overview

The watch face features a central dial with Hour Hand, Minute Hand, and Second Hand. A sub-dial indicates "PERCENT OF GOAL (STEPS OR DISTANCE)" and "ACTIVITY". The crown is located on the side. The watch face also displays "TIMEX" and "IQ+" logos, and a "PERFECT DATE®" feature with numbers 1-31.

How to Set Up Your Watch

Note: Pairing is performed during on-boarding steps. Do not attempt to pair from the smartphone's manual Bluetooth® settings.

1. Download the Timex Connected app.
2. Ensure Bluetooth® is ON in smartphone settings.
3. Press the watch crown into the closed position.
4. On your smartphone, with your watch near your phone, follow app instructions:
   • Open the Timex Connected app.
   • Accept the user agreement.
   • Select the iQ+ Move watch. (For Android only: grant permission and accept device location.)
   • Answer user profile questions to set up activity tracking and goals.
   • When prompted, press and hold the crown for 5 seconds until a melody plays and hands move, indicating Bluetooth® function is on.
   • From the list, select the iQ+ Move watch.
   • If a watch update is available, it will install automatically.
   • Follow app instructions to calibrate watch hands.

After these steps, your watch syncs with your smartphone, sets to current local time, and is ready for activity and sleep tracking.

Changing the Time

The watch's time updates to local time upon initial setup and every sync. To manually override, gently pull out the crown to the outer position, rotate hands to set time, then push the crown to the closed position. Following a sync, time will revert to the smartphone's time.

Watch Crown Positions

The watch crown has four positions:

• Temporary Push Position: Briefly push to activate INDIGLO® night-light and show Perfect Date® feature. Push longer than 5 seconds to activate Bluetooth®.
• Closed, Middle, and Outer Positions: Extend the crown to its outer position, then push lightly until it clicks into the middle position, before pushing it to closed. Observe how watch hands change with crown movement.

Activating the INDIGLO® Night-Light

Press and hold the crown to activate the INDIGLO® night-light. The light stays on for 2-3 seconds after the crown is released.

Synchronizing Watch and Smartphone

Synchronization (sync) performs the following:

• Transfers the previous 7 calendar days' worth of activity and sleep tracking data from watch to phone.
• Updates watch time to match smartphone time.
• Sends other app settings (e.g., alarm) to watch.
• Sends other watch information (e.g., low battery) to smartphone.
• Checks for watch updates and updates automatically.

Note: To prevent data loss, synchronize the watch to the smartphone app at least every six days.

Note: The watch must be within 2 meters (6.5 feet) of your smartphone for optimal communication.

To synchronize:

1. Open the Timex Connected app.
2. On your watch, push and hold the crown for 5 seconds until a melody sounds and the hands move to 12 o'clock.
3. Listen for the melody indicating successful Bluetooth® synchronization.

Note: If the Bluetooth® connection is disrupted, re-pair as follows:

1. Tell your smartphone to "forget" the watch:
   • In smartphone settings (not the Timex app), view Bluetooth® devices.
   • Un-pair ("forget" or disconnect) your iQ+ Move watch.
   • Exit Bluetooth® settings.
   • Open the Timex Connected app and sync watch and smartphone.

Viewing Goals

Use the smartphone app to choose goals for steps or distance to be displayed on your watch sub-dial. To view other goals, gently pull the crown out to the middle position.

Showing Seconds, Date, Distance, Steps

By default, the second hand shows seconds. When set to show seconds, pressing the crown temporarily causes the second hand to point to the current day of the month (e.g., 23 seconds past the minute, pressing the crown would point to 10 on the tenth day of the month).

The second hand can be set to show steps, distance, or day of the month via the smartphone app settings.

Alarm

Set and turn on daily alarm on the smartphone app. Sync to send alarm setting to watch. When the alarm sounds, the night-light flashes on the watch. Press the crown to silence; if not pressed, the alarm will sound for 20 seconds.

Countdown Timer

Set and start the Countdown Timer on the smartphone app. Sync to send to watch. The watch beeps and the night-light flashes when the countdown ends. Press the crown to silence; if not pressed, the alert will sound for 20 seconds.

Adjusting Stride Length

The Timex IQ+ Move uses an algorithm to determine stride based on height and speed. If reported distance does not match actual walking/running distance, you can calibrate it by up to +/- 25% via the distance-adjustment option in the watch section of the smartphone app.

Low Battery Power

The watch indicates when the battery needs replacement:

• During synchronization, the app will alert you.
• The second hand will move every 2 seconds in 2-second increments.

When battery power is low:

• INDIGLO® night-light will not function.
• Watch and smartphone will not communicate.
• Activity tracking functions remain functional until battery is completely depleted, but new data will not be stored.

Replacing the Battery

Before replacing, synchronize to the smartphone app to retrieve all latest activity and sleep data. After replacement, the watch will need to be re-calibrated with the smartphone.

Storing the Watch

To remove power for storage, pull the crown out to the outer position. The hour, minute, and second hands will stop, and activity/sleep-tracking functions will be inactive after 30 minutes.

Smartphone App Updates

You will be notified of smartphone app updates. Update the app using the standard process for your smartphone.

Watch Updates

You will be notified of watch updates in the Timex Connected smartphone app. Follow the instructions in the app.

Note: Updates delete all activity recorded for the current day. Perform updates early in the day to minimize data loss.

For an uninterrupted connection, place the watch and smartphone on a flat surface, beside each other, and avoid moving them during the update. The lower subdial hand shows progress (0 to 100%). Updates average 5 to 10 minutes, but can last up to 30 minutes.

Water Resistance

Warning: To maintain water resistance, do not press any buttons under water.

Note: To confirm water resistance, check for the water resistance symbol (a wave icon or similar) before immersing.

Your iQ+ Move watch is water resistant to a depth of 50 meters (164 feet).

• The watch is water resistant only as long as lens, push buttons, and case remain intact.
• The watch is not a diver watch and should not be used for diving.
• Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water.

Timex International Warranty

Your TIMEX® watch is warranted against manufacturing defects by Timex Group USA, Inc. for ONE YEAR from the purchase date. Timex and its worldwide affiliates will honor this International Warranty.

Timex may, at its option, repair or replace your watch with an identical or similar model.

Important: This warranty does not cover defects or damages to your watch:

1. After the warranty period expires.
2. If the watch was not originally purchased from an authorized Timex retailer.
3. From repair services not performed by Timex.
4. From accidents, tampering, or abuse.
5. Lens or crystal, strap or band, watch case, attachments, or battery.

Timex may charge for replacing any of these parts.

This warranty and the remedies contained herein are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for particular purpose.

Timex is not liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages.

Some countries and states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusions/limitations on damages, so these limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, which may vary by country and state.

To obtain warranty service, return your watch to your local Timex affiliate or the Timex retailer where purchased, with a completed original Watch Repair Coupon (if available) or a written statement identifying your name, address, telephone number, and date and place of purchase. Timex will charge for postage and handling due on return shipments.

Never include a special watchband or any other article of personal value in your shipment.
