Description ?
The HLG-120H series is a 120W AC/DC LED driver featuring dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. It operates from 90~305VAC and offers models with different rated voltages ranging between 12V and 54V. With a high efficiency up to 93.5% and a fanless design, the entire series operates from -40°C to +80°C case temperature under free air convection. The metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allow this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. The HLG-120H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, to provide optimal design flexibility for LED lighting systems.

- All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25°C of ambient temperature.
- Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- Tolerance: includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

- Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Block Diagram ?️
The block diagram illustrates the internal components and signal flow of the HLG-120H LED driver. The input (I/P) passes through an EMI FILTER & RECTIFIERS, followed by a PFC CIRCUIT and POWER SWITCHING stage. Control signals are managed by PFC CONTROL, PWM CONTROL, O.L.P. (Over Load Protection), O.T.P. (Over Temperature Protection), and O.V.P. (Over Voltage Protection). The output stage includes RECTIFIERS & FILTER, and a DETECTION CIRCUIT, providing the final output voltages (+V, -V) and dimming signals (DIM+, DIM- for B-Type models).
Driving Methods of LED Module ?
This series is designed to operate in either Constant Current mode (direct drive) or Constant Voltage mode (typically with an additional DC/DC driver) to power LEDs.
The graph "Vo(%) vs Io (%)" illustrates the operational regions. Region (A) represents the Constant Voltage area, where the output voltage is regulated. Region (B) represents the Constant Current region, where the output current is regulated. In the constant current region, the maximum output voltage depends on the configuration of the end systems. Dimming Operation ?️
The HLG-120H series offers a 3-in-1 dimming function for B/AB-Type models. The output constant current level can be adjusted using one of three methodologies applied between the DIM+ and DIM- terminals: 1~10VDC, 10V PWM signal, or resistance. Direct connection to LEDs is suggested, and it is not suitable for use with additional drivers. The dimming source current from the power supply is approximately 100μA (typ.).
Applying additive 1 ~ 10VDC

Dimming Control Example ?️
This section provides a wiring diagram for controlling the lighting fixture's ON/OFF and dimming. It shows connections for AC source (N, FG, L) to a Relay, Switch, and Adjuster. The HLG-120H (B-Type) is connected via its DIM+ and DIM- terminals to the adjuster, which can be set up using 10K/N~100K/N Ohms resistance, 1~10V DC Voltage, or 10V PWM Signal. The output (+V, -V) connects to the LED Lighting Fixture. A switch and relay can be used to turn the lighting fixture ON/OFF.

Output Load vs Temperature (Note.10)
Two graphs illustrate derating based on temperature. The first graph plots LOAD (%) against AMBIENT TEMPERATURE, Ta (°C), showing 100% load capacity up to 50°C, followed by a linear derating to 0% at 70°C. The second graph plots LOAD (%) against Tcase (°C), indicating 100% load capacity up to 75°C, with linear derating to 0% at 80°C.
Static Characteristics ?
This graph plots LOAD (%) against INPUT VOLTAGE (V) at 60Hz. It shows that the driver maintains 100% load capacity across a wide input voltage range, from approximately 90V up to 305V. A note indicates that de-rating is needed under low input voltages.
Power Factor (PF) Characteristic ?
The graph shows the Power Factor (PF) versus LOAD (%) at Tcase = 70°C for the Constant Current Mode. For all input voltages (115Vac, 230Vac, 277Vac), the PF remains high, generally above 0.90, and approaches 1.00 at higher load percentages.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) ?
This graph displays THD (%) versus LOAD (%) for the 48V Model at Tcase = 70°C. It shows that THD is relatively low, especially at higher load percentages, with values generally below 20% for 115Vac and 230Vac inputs, and slightly higher for 277Vac input.

Waterproof Connection ?
The HLG-120H can be assembled with waterproof connectors for operation in dry, wet, damp, or outdoor environments. Available connector sizes are M12 (4-PIN or 5-PIN, 5A/PIN, 10A max. suitable current) and M15 (2-PIN, 12A/PIN, 12A max. suitable current).
A CJ04 cable joiner is available for assembly (CJ04-1 for 14AWG~16AWG, CJ04-2 for 18AWG~22AWG), allowing up to four wires to be connected via soldering or clamping. These joiners can be purchased independently (MEAN WELL order No.: CJ04-1, CJ04-2).
