Yeelight Sunflower Smart Lighting System
User Manual - Model: SF-1
Introduction
Yeelight Sunflower is a wireless, smart, scene lighting system designed for home Wi-Fi networks. It automatically forms a system with its control box. Users can control bulb color and brightness via smart devices like smartphones or tablets, and save/recall scene settings. The companion app is compatible with iOS 5.0+ and Android 2.3.3+.
Product Packages
1. Starter Pack
The starter pack includes 3 yeelight bulbs and 1 control box, serving as the base lighting system.
1) The Bulb
The Yeelight Sunflower bulb is an LED light featuring an integrated wireless sending/receiving component that operates via Zigbee signals. It receives commands from the control box to adjust its color and brightness.
Description of bulb diagram: Shows a light diffusing dome, LED inside, a cap at the base, and a wireless antennae area.
2) Control Box
The control box functions as a LAN to Zigbee bridge, converting Wi-Fi commands from smartphones into Zigbee signals. It connects to your home Wi-Fi AP via a LAN socket. Upon booting, it obtains an IP address, enabling smartphone discovery and connection over Wi-Fi.
Description of control box diagram: Features a 'yeelight' logo, LAN and Power interfaces, Wireless and LAN indicator lights, and a Button.
2. Single Pack
The single pack contains a single yeelight bulb and cannot be used independently. It is designed to expand the number of bulbs in a starter pack. For expansion instructions, refer to the "Extra bulb via single pack" section in the Installation guide.
Installation
After initial setup and system operation, a wireless binding is created between the bulbs and the control box. This manual also provides instructions for unbinding these components.
1. Preparation
- Ensure you have a home Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) and your smartphone can connect to it.
- Verify you have the necessary accessories: a LAN cable, a USB power cable, and a USB power adapter.
2. Starter Pack Installation
- Connect the LAN cable from your Wi-Fi AP's LAN interface to the control box's LAN interface.
- Connect the USB power cable to the control box and a power source. The control box's LAN indicator will flash rapidly during network configuration, followed by slow flashes during booting. Once operational, the LAN indicator remains steadily lit. It flashes 3 times when receiving a command from the smartphone.
- Screw the bulb into its mount base and turn on the power. When the bulb is active and communicating with the control box, the control box's wireless indicator will light up.
3. Extra Bulb via Single Pack
Screw the bulb into its mount base and turn on the power. Refresh the bulb list on your smartphone to discover new bulbs.
If you encounter difficulties installing additional bulbs, particularly those from different setups, consider restoring the bulb to factory settings or positioning it closer to the control box for improved wireless signal strength. Factory reset procedures are detailed in the "Advanced Operation" section.
4. Advanced Operation
1) Restore Control Box to Factory Setting
Press and hold the button on the control box for 10 seconds, then release. Both the LAN and wireless indicators will flash rapidly for about 3 seconds. The process is complete when both indicator LEDs illuminate continuously. This action erases all binding information from the control box, requiring re-installation of all bulbs. If a bulb is online during this procedure, it will also be reset to its factory settings.
2) Restore Bulb to Factory Setting
Keep the bulb powered on for at least 30 seconds, then turn it off. Follow these steps to perform the factory reset:
- Turn the bulb on. When it powers up and displays maximum white light, turn it off immediately (within 5 seconds).
- Repeat step (i) three times.
- Turn the bulb on again. It will cycle through red, green, blue, and white lights, confirming a successful factory reset.

Questions and Answers
-
Is the bulb bound with the control box after installation?
Yes, the binding is established during installation. To move a bulb to a different control box, it must first be restored to factory settings.
-
How to unbind a bulb and control box?
Refer to the "Installation" section for the relevant procedure.
-
How to restore to factory setting?
Refer to the "Installation" section for the relevant procedure.
-
My Wi-Fi AP does not support SSDP scan, what should I do?
Obtain the IP address from your Wi-Fi AP's configuration page and enter it into the Yeelight APP. The smartphone app will then connect using this fixed IP address, bypassing automatic scanning.
-
The bulb is turned on but shows offline on the smartphone.
During initial installation, ensure the bulb is restored to factory settings. If this issue occurs after successful installation, check the distance between the bulb and control box, or investigate potential wireless interference devices, as these can impact signal strength and cause data transmission errors.
-
The bulb cannot be discovered during installation.
Attempt to restore the bulb to factory settings (refer to the "Installation" section) or move it closer to the control box to improve the wireless signal.
