Label Position
The product label is positioned on the back of the active device.
Preparation
Ensure there is a power socket within reach of where the device is being installed.
Important: Instructions need to be followed precisely and uninterrupted. This minimizes the risk of damage to the fiber optic connectors, causing a severe degradation of signal quality.
Button Overview
- Unlock button: Remove Fiber Twist or Blind Cover - press and hold while twisting counterclockwise.
- Reset button (recessed): Press and release to reset.
- LED dim button: Press and release to dim LEDs in steps.
Port Overview
The rear panel of the device features the following ports:
- TV port
- LAN port
- Power port
- ON/OFF button
ON/OFF button: Press and release to switch the device ON or OFF.
LED Overview
The device has the following LED indicators:
- System: Green - system ok; Green (blinking) - booting / firmware upgrade; Off - power off.
- Uplink: Green - link ok; Green (blinking) – link establishing; Off - no link.
- TV: Green - TV ok; Off - no TV.
Remove Blind Cover (if present)
- Press and hold the unlock button.
- Rotate the Blind Cover counterclockwise until it clicks into place.
- Remove the Blind Cover from the baseplate (FTU) by pulling it towards yourself.
- Store the Blind Cover in a safe place.
Remove Dust Cap
- Take the Fiber Twist out of the box.
- The dust cap is connected to the red string located on the rear of the Fiber Twist.
- Remove the dust cap by pulling the red string.
- Store the dust cap in a safe place.
Twist!
- Place the FiberTwist on the FTU at a 30-degree angle, as shown in the illustration.
- Rotate clockwise until it clicks into place.
- Ensure the FiberTwist is aligned squarely on the FTU, with each edge lining up directly with the FTU below.
Your Fiber Twist is now installed!
Connecting the Fiber Twist
- If required, connect your television / set-top box to the TV port with a coax cable.
- If required, connect your personal devices to the LAN ports via an RJ45 network cable.
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the Fiber Twist and plug the adapter into a power socket.
- Press the ON/OFF button to power on the device.
If at some point in the future it becomes necessary to uninstall the Fiber Twist, please place the Blind Cover back on the FTU immediately and put the dust cap back on the Fiber Twist.
Warning: The FiberTwist is a Class 1 laser product.
