Getting started
Using the LCD screen
The LCD screen is located on the filter end of the machine. Use the silver Selection button to navigate power modes and settings.
Power modes
- Eco mode: Provides maximum run time for longer cleans. Indicated by a full green battery icon.
- Auto and Med mode: Offers a balance of power and run time. Suction power automatically adapts to dust levels when the cleaner head or Hair screw tool is attached. Indicated by a blue battery icon.

Dust particle display
A piezo sensor continuously sizes and counts dust particles at the inlet. The machine categorizes, counts, and displays the amount of particles picked up. Bars on the screen rise and fall based on detected debris, indicating when an area is clean.
Settings menu
To access the settings menu, press and hold the Selection button until the menu appears. Press the button to scroll through options:
- Language: Select your preferred screen language.
- Alerts: Turn on or off onscreen alerts (blockage alerts will still pulse).
- Serial numbers: View your machine's serial numbers.
- Exit menu: Return to the main screen.
Changing language
In the settings menu, select 'Language'. Scroll through the list using the Selection button and press and hold to confirm your choice. A green tick indicates successful selection.
Finding serial numbers
Navigate to 'Serial numbers' in the settings menu to view your machine, battery, and charger serial numbers.
Alerts
Your machine will display alerts for various conditions:
- Low run time: The machine pulses three times, and a low run time icon (amber or red in Boost mode) appears. A red warning icon appears when the battery is empty.
- Battery health and Boost advice: Alerts may appear if Boost mode is used frequently, suggesting the use of Eco or Auto/Med modes to maintain battery health.

Alert settings can be adjusted in the settings menu, though blockage alerts will always pulse.
Caring for your floors
Ensure the underside of cleaner heads and tools are clean. Check manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions before vacuuming. The rotating brush bar may cause fuzzing on certain carpet types; consider vacuuming without the motorised floor tool and consult your flooring manufacturer if this occurs.
Charging your machine
You can use the machine immediately or charge it partially. Connect the charger directly to the machine or use the wall dock. Blue LEDs on the battery flash during charging and light up for five seconds when fully charged (100% displayed on screen). The machine will not operate or charge if the ambient temperature is below 5°C (41°F) to protect the motor and battery.
Changing your click-in battery
To remove the battery, push the Battery release button at the front of the battery unit and slide it off. To refit, align the battery with the handle and slide it in until it clicks. Alternating batteries can help maintain performance.
Emptying your bin
Empty the bin when dirt reaches the MAX level to maintain performance. Turn off the machine power before removing the wand or releasing the bin. Press the grey wand release button to remove the wand. Hold the machine over a bin, point downwards, and push the red bin release button firmly to open the bin base and empty contents. Minimize dust contact by covering the bin tightly in a dustproof bag during emptying. Push the bin base upwards until it clicks into place to close.
Cleaning your bin
Empty the bin first. Press the red button on the bin runner to release and slide the bin off. Clean the bin with a damp, lint-free cloth. Ensure the bin and seals are completely dry before refitting. The bin is not dishwasher safe, and detergents, polishes, or air fresheners are not recommended.
Clearing blockages
Disconnect the machine from the charger and ensure power is off before checking for blockages. Allow the machine to cool down if it has been running. If a blockage is detected, the motor will pulse and the machine will automatically cut out until cleared. Check for blockages in the main body (after removing the bin), the wand (at both ends), and the cleaner head (including the brush bar). Reassemble securely before use. Clearing blockages is not covered by the guarantee.
Clearing obstructions from your Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head
The Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head brush bar is not washable. To clear obstructions, disconnect the machine from the charger and turn off power. Press the cleaner head release button on the wand. Place the cleaner head upside down. Use a coin to unlock the end cap by turning it 90° anti-clockwise. Remove the end cap (do not wash it) and slide the brush bar out. Clear debris from the brush bar and inside the cleaner head. Wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth. To refit, slide the brush bar back in, reattach the end cap, and turn it 90° clockwise to lock.
Clearing blockages from your Hair screw tool
The Hair screw tool brush bar is not washable. Remove the tool from the wand or machine. Push the base plate open. Press the red lever down to release the cleaner head cover and pull it off. Pull the brush bar firmly from the main body. Check and remove obstructions from all three parts. Wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth. To reassemble, put the brush bar back in until it clicks. Ensure the red locking lever is unlocked. Align the cleaner head cover with the guide on the main body and push it down until it clicks. Push the red locking lever up to lock and push the base plate into place.
Washing your filter
Wash your filter at least once a month to maintain suction power. Ensure the filter is completely dry (at least 24 hours in a well-ventilated area) before reattaching, as a damp filter can damage the machine. Twist the filter anti-clockwise to remove it from the rear of the machine. Tap gently over a bin to remove loose dust. Wash the pleated paper element and foam element under warm running tap water, with the foam element facing downwards, until the water runs clear. Shake firmly to remove excess water and place on its end to dry for at least 24 hours. Do not dry in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near a naked flame.
Washing your Fluffy Optic™ brush bar
Your Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head has a washable brush bar. To clear obstructions, disconnect from the charger and turn off power. Press the cleaner head release button on the wand. Place the cleaner head upside down. Push the end cap up fully and pull the brush bar out. Remove the end cap (do not wash it). Hold the brush bar under running water and gently rub to remove lint or dirt. Stand the brush bar upright with the closed end facing upwards and leave to dry completely for at least 24 hours. Before refitting, ensure the brush bar is dry. Reattach the end cap, slide the brush bar into the cleaner head, and push the end cap back down to the closed position. Ensure the end cap is attached at an angle less than 90° for proper closure.
Cleaning your optic lens
To maintain optimum performance, keep the optic lens on the Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head clean. Only clean when the cleaner head is not attached to the machine. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the lens.
Scratch-free dusting brush
Compatible with various Dyson models. Attach directly or to an extension hose for delicate cleaning. Use a pencil-like grip and avoid pressing too hard; only the ultra-soft bristles should contact surfaces. The self-cleaning function can be used when dust builds up on bristles: with the vacuum switched on, lift the cleaning cuff until it clicks to cover bristles, rotate five times, then move the cuff back down. This hygienically cleans dust from bristles and sucks it into the bin. Use this function only when the brush is attached directly to the vacuum.
Awkward gap tool
Compatible with various Dyson models. Attach directly to your vacuum. Use in its original straight position for standard surfaces like skirting boards. For tight or awkward gaps, rotate the tool to its 22° angle until it clicks to reach further. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.
Cleaning your tools
Do not put any part of your machine in a dishwasher or use detergents, polishes, or air fresheners. Wipe tools with a damp, lint-free cloth, avoiding the connector end. Ensure tools are completely dry before use. This applies to the Combination tool, Scratch-free dusting brush, Awkward gap tool, Extension hose, Soft dusting brush, Stubborn dirt brush, Low-reach adaptor, Light pipe crevice tool, Up-top adaptor, and Fabric and mattress tool.
Looking after your machine
To maintain optimal performance, clean your machine regularly and check for blockages. Wipe dusty surfaces with a damp, lint-free cloth. Check for blockages in the cleaner head, tools, and main body. Wash your filter regularly and ensure it dries completely. Do not use detergents or polishes. To maximize battery performance and life, use Eco or Auto/Med mode. The machine will not operate or charge below 5°C (41°F) to protect the motor and battery. Your serial numbers can be found on the machine, battery, charger, and in the screen settings.
