TOSHIBA V-DR Series Air Conditioners

Catalog for Home Use

Key Benefits: Great Energy Saving, Pure Air, Comfortable Airflow

The Toshiba Daiseikai (大清快) series, established since 1998, focuses on making what's important a reality: significant energy savings, clean air, and comfortable air conditioning. Visit the Toshiba lifestyle website for more information: https://www.toshiba-lifestyle.com/jp/air_conditioners/

Note: Prices in this catalog do not include used product take-back fees. Installation costs vary based on location and required materials. Disposal of air conditioners may incur recycling fees according to the Home Appliance Recycling Law.

Plasma Air Purification with UV Sterilization Unit

Toshiba's unique technology ensures clean air. This system is verified by third-party institutions for its purification capabilities.

PM0.1 Level Particle Removal (0.09~0.11µm)

The plasma air purification system effectively removes ultra-fine particles down to PM0.1.

[Diagram Description: Shows particle sizes including hair (~85µm), Sugi pollen (~45µm), yellow sand (~4µm), bacteria (~1µm), and viruses (~0.1µm or less), illustrating how PM2.5 and PM0.1 particles are targeted.]

PM2.5 Removal

Test Method: Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association Standard "JEM1467: Removal performance for fine particulate matter (PM2.5)". Judgment Criteria: Achieves 99% removal of fine particles (0.1µm-2.5µm) in a 32m² (approx. 8 tatami mats) sealed space within 90 minutes. (Tested in a 31m² space, converted to 32m².)

Bacteria Removal

Test Institution: Kitasato Environmental Science Center. Test Method: Bacteria (1 type) were floated in a 25m² sealed chamber, and the air conditioner was operated in air purification mode. Floating bacteria in the chamber were collected over time and counted. Test Results: 99% reduction compared to natural decay in 73 minutes. (Report No.: 北生発2022_0069号)

Mold Removal

Test Institution: Kitasato Environmental Science Center. Test Method: Mold spores (1 type) were floated in a 25m² sealed chamber, and the air conditioner was operated in air purification mode. Floating mold was collected over time and counted. Test Results: 99% reduction compared to natural decay in 34 minutes. (Report No.: 北生発2022_0068号)

Odor Removal

Test Institution: GUANGDONG DETECTION CENTER OF MICROBIOLOGY. Test Method: Based on China GB/T 18801-2022. Test Results: Reduction of odor intensity by 1 or more confirmed for pet odor, cigarette odor, and garbage odor. (Report No.: 2024FM02344R01 Da) (Note: Does not remove all continuously generated odors.)

UV Sterilization

Test Institution: GUANGDONG DETECTION CENTER OF MICROBIOLOGY. Test Method: Bacteria attached to a 1cm² stainless steel surface were irradiated with a UV lamp from 2cm away for 4 minutes, and the number of bacteria was measured. Test Results: 99% reduction confirmed compared to before UV irradiation. (Report No.: 2022FM01738R01D) (This is a test result for the UV sterilization unit alone.)

How it Works:

[Diagram Description: Shows the process of dust being collected by static electricity, charged, adsorbed to the heat exchanger, irradiated by UV light, and then flushed out with condensation water.]

This process keeps the heat exchanger clean, preventing performance degradation and eliminating the need for frequent filter cleaning.

Comfortable Airflow: The 'No-Wind' Experience

Toshiba's unique 'No-Wind' (無風感) air conditioning technology delivers comfort without direct drafts.

Separate No-Wind Louver

The louvers are split into two sections, allowing for independent control. This enables settings like 'No-Wind' on one side and regular airflow on the other, catering to individual preferences and room conditions. This feature is available for cooling, heating, air purification, and dehumidification modes.

[Diagram Description: Illustrates the 'Separate No-Wind Louver' with options for 'No-Wind Left', 'No-Wind Right', and 'No-Wind All'. It shows how airflow can be directed softly or strongly, or kept away from occupants.]

How 'No-Wind' Airflow is Achieved

The 'No-Wind' function utilizes a special louver that diffuses the airflow. The faster air from the 'No-Wind' louver mixes with the regular airflow, creating a gentle, diffused breeze that feels natural and comfortable.

[Diagram Description: Shows how the 'No-Wind' louver emits fast-moving air which then mixes with slower air, diffusing the overall airflow to create a soft breeze.]

Seasonal Comfort

Test Results:

Exceptional Energy Saving Performance

Toshiba air conditioners are designed for superior energy efficiency, meeting or exceeding standards.

Energy Saving Standard Achieved

Models in the V-DR series achieve the Energy Saving Standard for the target year 2027, offering excellent energy efficiency and comfort.

Intelligent Modes

Air Monitoring

An 'Air Monitor' feature uses a sensor to detect air quality, indicated by a lamp color, allowing users to see when air purification is active.

Antibacterial Features

Four layers of antibacterial processing are applied to key components, including filters, fan blades, louvers, and the remote control, to inhibit the growth of bacteria and maintain hygiene.

Advanced Features for Enhanced Comfort and Convenience

Radar Air Throw & Avoidance (レーダー風あて/風よけ)

This industry-first technology uses radar to detect people's presence and movement. It allows you to direct airflow precisely where needed ('Air Throw') or avoid directing air directly at people ('Air Avoidance'), ensuring personalized comfort. (Detects one person only; accuracy may vary.)

[Diagram Description: Shows the radar sensor detecting a person and directing airflow towards them or away from them.]

Circulator Function

The circulator mode uses independent louver movement to create a gentle, oscillating airflow, ideal for circulating air throughout the room year-round, even when used with dehumidification or air purification modes.

Auto Restart

In the event of a power outage, the air conditioner will automatically resume its previous operating settings once power is restored, providing continuous comfort and convenience.

UV Premium Clean Sterilization

UV light is used to sterilize the heat exchanger, further enhancing air quality and preventing the growth of microorganisms.

Installation Space Requirements

Adequate space is required around the indoor and outdoor units for proper operation and maintenance.

[Diagram Description: Shows recommended clearance space around the indoor unit (e.g., 50mm above, 30mm sides, 130mm below for power cord) and outdoor unit (e.g., 50mm front, 30mm sides, 150mm rear). It also indicates space needed for panel opening and louver movement.]

Outdoor Unit Installation Notes

Ensure the outdoor unit is not exposed to strong winds, especially on rooftops, to prevent damage. If using snow guards (sold separately), follow instructions and ensure adequate space.

Environmental Considerations

HFC Refrigerant (R32)

These air conditioners use HFC refrigerant (R32), which is environmentally friendly and compliant with regulations. R32 offers comparable performance to R410A with a lower global warming potential.

Environmental Impact Labels

Fluorocarbon Label: Indicates the global warming potential (GWP) of the refrigerant used. Toshiba products meet or exceed environmental targets.

J-Moss Information: Toshiba is committed to reducing the use of hazardous substances, complying with regulations like J-Moss.

Eco-Friendly Construction

Toshiba is dedicated to environmental conservation through initiatives like "Ecology Construction" (using vacuum pump methods to prevent refrigerant release) and promoting the reuse of existing piping where feasible.

Safety Precautions

Please read the instruction manual carefully before use. These air conditioners are designed for use only in Japan. Do not attempt self-installation or repair, as it may lead to injury or product damage. Regular inspection of older units is recommended to prevent potential hazards.

Warranty Information

Compressor/Refrigerant Circuit: 5-year warranty. Main Unit: 1-year warranty.
