How to Access the Configuration Page and Change the Device Password on DWR-2000M 5G Wi-Fi 6 Router
Accessing the Router Configuration Page
- Connect an end device (smartphone, laptop, or computer) to the DWR-2000M either via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is DLink2G-XXXX and DLink5G-XXXX, with the password printed on the product label.
- Once connected, open a web browser and type https://192.168.0.1 on the address bar and hit enter.
-
You might see a privacy error or similar security warning. This happens because the router uses a self-signed SSL certificate, which browsers may not recognize as secure.
Here's how to proceed:
- Click Advanced at the bottom of the warning page.
- Select Continue to 192.168.0.1 (unsafe) to access the router's login page.
Textual description of warning: The browser displays a "Your connection isn't private" message, indicating potential risks like stealing your information (e.g., passwords, messages, or credit cards) due to an invalid certificate authority (NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID). An option to proceed to the IP address (unsafe) is available.
If you are hesitant to proceed due to security concerns, you can review the certificate details to verify its issuer and confirm that it is associated with D-Link. Look for the padlock symbol (depending on your browser) and view the certificate details to confirm it was issued by the D-Link manufacturer.
- You will be prompted to enter the Username and Password to access the router's settings. The default Username is admin, and the Password is printed on the product label.
- Click Login to proceed.
Changing the Admin/Device Password
- On the router's page, go to the More tab at the top of the page.
- From the left-hand menu, click System then Password on its sub-menu.
-
Fill in the following fields:
- New login username: Enter a new username.
- Current password: Enter the current admin password.
- New login password: Enter new password (minimum 8-12 characters recommended. Password must contain numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters).
- Re-enter Password: Confirm the new password by typing it again.
- Click Save. After saving, the page will automatically log you out. You will need to log in again using your new username and password.
