Important Warnings
WARNING: DISCONNECT POWER AT THE MAIN FUSE BOX BEFORE INSTALLATION.
WARNING: This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended.
Before You Begin
Before assembly, remove all parts and part packages from the box. If any parts are missing, please contact the retailer from which the product was purchased.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Access House Wires
Carefully pull the house wires out of the junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.
Step 2: Position Mounting Bracket
Position the mounting bracket (A) so the head of the ground screw is facing outward. The tabs on the mounting bracket (A) should be at the top and bottom, facing outward.
Diagram Description: A mounting bracket (A) is shown with tabs and a ground screw. It is positioned to attach to a junction box.
Step 3: Route House Wires
Carefully pull the house wires through the hole in the center of the mounting bracket (A).
Step 4: Align and Level Bracket
Align the holes in the mounting bracket (A) with the corresponding holes in the junction box. Ensure the mounting bracket (A) is level.
Step 5: Secure Mounting Bracket
Thread each junction box screw (B) into the appropriate hole in the mounting bracket (A) and into the hole in the junction box. Tighten the junction box screws (B) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box.
CAUTION: Make sure house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket. DO NOT pinch wires between the mounting bracket and the wall.
Step 6: Prepare Fixture Wires
Strip approximately 3/4 inch (19.05 mm) of insulation from the ends of the fixture wires.
Step 7: Connect Ground Wire
Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A). Do not remove it completely. Wrap the house ground wire (typically copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough wire to attach to the fixture's ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten the wire nut (C).
Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to:
- Bare Copper Wire or
- Bare Silver Wire or
- Green Insulated Wire
Diagram Description: Shows the house ground wire (copper) wrapped around the ground screw on the mounting bracket, connected to the fixture ground wire with a wire nut (C).
Step 8: Connect Lead and Neutral Wires
Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of these wires and tighten completely. Similarly, twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto these wires and tighten completely.

Insulated Wire (other than green) with Silver Conductor. *Note on Parallel Wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2): The lead wire is round or smooth. The neutral wire is square or ridged.
Diagram Description: Illustrates the connection of fixture wires (black lead, bare copper ground, white neutral) to corresponding house wires (black lead, copper ground, white neutral) using wire nuts (C).
Step 9: Secure Connections
Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure the wires are securely fastened within the wire nuts.
Step 10: Tuck Wires into Junction Box
Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
Step 11: Attach Backplate
Place the backplate (D) over the mounting bracket (A). Align the holes in the top and bottom of the backplate (D) with the holes in each tab of the mounting bracket (A).
Step 12: Secure Fixture to Wall
Screw one fixture mounting screw (E) into the hole in the top and bottom of the backplate (D) and into the holes in each tab of the mounting bracket (A). Tighten the fixture mounting screws (E) to secure the fixture to the wall.
Diagram Description: Shows the backplate (D) being attached to the mounting bracket (A) using fixture mounting screws (E). The fixture body is partially visible.
Step 13: Attach Shade
Carefully raise the shade (K) up to the fixture. Pass the hole in the top of the shade (K) over the socket. Thread the socket ring (L) onto the socket. Tighten the socket ring (L) to secure the shade (K) in place. Repeat this step for any remaining shades.
Diagram Description: Illustrates attaching the shade (K) to the fixture's socket using a socket ring (L).
Step 14: Install Bulbs
Screw the recommended bulbs (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the sockets. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture.
WARNING: DO NOT exceed the maximum bulb wattage.
