Important Safety Warnings

WARNING: Always disconnect power at the main fuse box before beginning installation.

This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are unfamiliar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

Before assembly, remove all parts and part packages from the box. If any parts are missing, please contact the retailer from which the product was purchased.

Installation Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare House Wiring

Carefully pull house wires down from the junction box to ensure they are easily accessible for connecting fixture wires.

  2. Step 2: Assemble Mounting Bracket

If the screw collar loop (W) is already attached to the mounting bracket (A), proceed to Step 3. To assemble the screw collar loop (W) to the mounting bracket (A):

    • Hold the mounting bracket (A) so the head of the ground screw points downwards towards the floor.
    • Hold the threaded pipe (E) so its two hexnuts are pointing downwards towards the floor.
    • From the side of the mounting bracket with the ground screw head, screw the short end of the threaded pipe (E) into the center hole of the mounting bracket (A) until the hexnut on the threaded pipe (E) touches the mounting bracket.
    • Thread the hexnut (V) onto the end of the threaded pipe (E). Tighten the hexnut (V) to secure the threaded pipe (E) to the mounting bracket (A).
    • Thread the screw collar loop (W) onto the end of the threaded pipe pointing down towards the floor. Tighten the screw collar loop up against the hexnut on the threaded pipe (E).
  3. Step 3: Mount Bracket to Junction Box

Place the mounting bracket (A) against the junction box. The screw collar loop (E) should be pointing down towards the floor. Align each slot in the mounting bracket (A) with each hole in the junction box.

Thread one junction box screw (B) into each slot in the mounting bracket (A) and into the corresponding holes in the junction box. Tighten the junction box screws (B) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box.

CAUTION: Ensure house wires remain easily accessible. Do not pinch wires between the mounting bracket and the ceiling.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the junction box mounted to the ceiling. The mounting bracket (A) is attached to the junction box with screws (B). A ground screw is visible on the bracket. The threaded pipe (E) with hexnuts (V) and screw collar loop (W) is attached to the bracket.

  4. Step 4: Assemble Fixture Chain and Wires

Carefully push fixture wires up through the bottom of the loop (M). Pull the fixture wires taut. Thread the bottom of the loop (M) onto the top of the fixture body (O).

    • Attach one locking link (G) to the loop (M).
    • Determine the desired hanging height of the fixture. Cut the chain (H) to the required length.
    • Slip a chain link at the end of the chain (H) onto the locking link (G) on the loop (M).
    • Weave the fixture wires through the chain links, skipping every other link.
    • Slip the threaded ring (F) down over the end of the chain (H) containing the fixture wires.
    • Position the canopy (D) so its outside points downwards towards the fixture. Slip the hole in the canopy (D) over the end of the chain (H).

Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates the assembly of the chain (H) and wires. A locking link (G) connects the chain to the loop (M). The threaded ring (F) and canopy (D) are shown positioned above the chain.

  5. Step 5: Prepare Wires for Connection

Strip approximately 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) of insulation from the ends of the fixture wires.

Carefully push the fixture wires up through the hole in the screw collar loop (W) attached to the mounting bracket (A) and out the end of the threaded pipe inside the junction box. Pull the fixture wires so they are easily accessible for connecting to house wires.

To facilitate wire connections, temporarily connect a second locking link (G) to the link at the end of the chain (H) and to the screw collar loop (W).

Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A), but do not remove it completely. Wrap the house ground wire (typically copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Secure them with a wire nut (C). Ensure the wire nut (C) is completely tightened.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the wires emerging from the junction box. The house ground wire (copper) is shown wrapped around the ground screw on the mounting bracket. The fixture ground wire is twisted together with the house ground wire and secured with a wire nut (C).

  6. Step 6: Connect Fixture Wires to House Wires

Twist the end of the house lead wire (typically black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of these wires and tighten completely.

Twist the end of the house neutral wire (typically white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of these wires and tighten completely.

Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts (C) and wires to ensure they are securely fastened.

Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.

Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates the wire connections. Fixture wires (lead, neutral, ground) are shown connecting to corresponding house wires (black, white, ground) using wire nuts (C). A table details the correct wire pairings:

Connect Black Lead Supply (House) Wire to: Connect White Neutral Supply (House) Wire to:
Black Wire or, White Wire or,
*Parallel Cord (Round and Smooth) or, *Parallel Cord (Square and Ridged) or,
No printed words on wire insulation or, Printed words on wire insulation or,
Insulated Wire (other than green) with Copper Conductor. Insulated Wire (other than green) with Silver Conductor.

*Note on Parallel Wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2): The lead wire is round or smooth. The neutral wire is square or ridged.

    Ground Wire Connection:

Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to: Bare Copper Wire or, Bare Silver Wire or, Green Insulated Wire.

  7. Step 7: Secure the Canopy

Remove the second locking link (G) from the last link on the chain (H) and the screw collar loop (W).

Raise the canopy (D) up to the ceiling. Pass the hole in the canopy (D) over the screw collar loop (W). Position the canopy (D) flush against the ceiling.

Raise the threaded ring (F) up to the canopy (D). Screw the threaded ring (F) onto the screw collar loop (W). Tighten the threaded ring (F) to secure the fixture to the ceiling.

Attach the second locking link (G) to the link at the end of the chain (H). Attach this locking link (G) to the loop on the screw collar loop (W).

Diagram Description: Diagrams show the canopy (D) being raised to the ceiling, covering the mounting hardware. The threaded ring (F) is tightened onto the screw collar loop (W) to hold the canopy in place. The final chain link is secured to the screw collar loop.

  8. Step 8: Install Bulbs

Screw recommended bulbs (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the sockets. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture.

WARNING: DO NOT exceed the maximum bulb wattage.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the completed fixture with a bulb being screwed into a socket.
