Before You Get Started
Ensure you have the following:
- Wi-Fi and a broadband internet connection.
- An Ezlo Plus or Ezlo Secure Smart Hub.
- An iOS or Android phone or tablet with the Vera Mobile app installed (visit ezlo.com/app to download).
- A power outlet near the desired camera location.
- A drill and Phillips screwdriver bit.
Choosing Wi-Fi or Ethernet
The VistaCam 1103 can connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable.
Which should you choose?
Wi-Fi: Offers convenient wireless connection without extra wiring. However, it is not recommended for areas with poor Wi-Fi coverage or if you experience connection issues.
Ethernet: Provides the most reliable connection and is recommended for camera locations far from your Wi-Fi router.
Initial Setup
Perform initial setup near your home router.
- Attach the Wi-Fi Antenna to the back of the camera by screwing it in tightly. For Ethernet connections, connect your camera to your router with the included Ethernet cable.
- Open the Vera Mobile app on your smartphone or tablet (visit ezlo.com/app to download).
- From the Main Menu, select Devices, then tap the [+] symbol in the top right corner.
- Select Cameras, then VistaCam 1103.
- Follow the instructions in the Device Pairing Wizard to complete setting up your camera.
- Once setup is complete, you can find and view your camera's video feed by selecting Cameras from the Main Menu.
- You can now disconnect the power (and Ethernet cable, if applicable) and mount your camera in its desired location.
Before You Mount Your Camera
When choosing a location, keep the following in mind:
- Avoid aiming the camera directly into the sun. Adjustments can be made after mounting.
- Point your camera at the center of the area you wish to cover, and be aware of potential obstructions like trees or shrubs.
- If using Wi-Fi, ensure the installation location has good Wi-Fi signal coverage.
Testing Wi-Fi Strength at the Camera Location
- Bring your smartphone near the preferred camera location.
- Ensure your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Visit a website or stream an online video on your phone.
- If websites and videos load quickly, the location likely has acceptable Wi-Fi coverage.
Mounting Your Camera
Drill two pilot holes 1-3/4 inches apart. Use a 3/4 inch bit to drill a wiring access hole centered between the pilot holes for wire connections.

Insert the camera's wires through the access hole and secure the camera to the wall with the provided screws. For softer wall materials, use the included plastic wall anchors.
Make Your Connections
Behind the wall where you mounted the camera:
- Plug the camera's power adapter into a wall outlet or extension cord, then connect it to the camera's power connector.
- For Ethernet installations, connect an Ethernet cable directly between the camera and your internet router.
Using Your Camera
After connecting power, wait two minutes for the camera to power up and reconnect to the network. Test its functionality by opening the Vera Mobile app, selecting "Devices", then selecting the camera you named during setup.
