Important Information

Before You Begin

Battery

If you notice signs of low battery power (dim display or no backlight), replace the battery at your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor. The battery included in your watch is for test purposes and may have a shorter service life than a standard battery.

Water Resistance

Watches are classified into categories (from I to V) according to their water resistance. Refer to the table below to determine the rules for using your watch.

Marking on CaseSplashes, Washing, RainSwimming, SnorkelingDiving with Scuba Gear
INoNoNo
II WATER RESISTANTYesNoNo
III 50M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNo
IV 100M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNo
V 200M WATER RESISTANT / 300M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYes

Notes for Corresponding Sections:

  1. The watch is not water resistant. Avoid exposure to any moisture.
  2. If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
  3. If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
  4. The watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).

ATTENTION!!! For all watch categories, it is prohibited to:

IMPORTANT!!! Some water-resistant watches feature leather straps. Do not wear these watches while swimming or engaging in any activity where the strap may be submerged in water.

Care of Your Watch

The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years. If water enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor. Do not expose the watch to extreme high or low temperatures. Although the watch is designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and do not drop it. Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap. To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile solvents (e.g., gasoline, thinners, aerosol cleaners, etc.). When not in use, store the watch in a dry place. Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these substances can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish. Some models have silk-screened designs on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs.

For Watches with Resin Straps...

You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a soft cloth. Sweat or moisture on the resin strap, or storing it in high humidity, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the resin strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth as often as possible.

For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps...

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually. Prolonged contact with moisture may cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Rubbing a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface can transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.

CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage caused by the use of this watch and accepts no claims from third parties.

Setting Home City

  1. Enter Current Time Mode.
  2. Press and hold [Button A] until the signal transmitter indicator flashes ("A/T" (Auto Transmitter Selection), "MSF" (Mainflingen, Germany), "DCF" (Rugby, England)).

Calibration Signal

This watch receives a calibration signal and updates the time accordingly. The signal transmission centers are located in Germany (25km from Frankfurt) and Rugby, England. The signal covers a radius of 1500km. The signal may be weak at distances over 500 meters. The broadcast signal is also affected by weather conditions, atmospheric pressure, and temperature. Factors that can weaken the signal include:

There are two types of calibration signal reception. With auto-calibration enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal five times daily and corrects the time. With forced calibration, you initiate the signal reception by pressing a button:

  1. Place your watch horizontally.
  2. In the Signal Reception Mode, press and hold [Button D] for 2 seconds until a beep is heard.
  3. Release [Button D]. Flashing of the current time indicates the start of signal reception.
  4. Signal reception takes 2 to 5 seconds. Be careful not to move your watch during reception.
  5. After reception, the watch display will show the data from the last reception.

To stop the reception process and return to Current Time Mode, press [Button D]. If reception fails, the display will show "ERR" for 1-2 minutes before automatically returning to Current Time Mode. You can return to Current Time Mode by pressing [Button D].

Auto-Calibration Signal

With auto-calibration enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal five times a day: at 0:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00 AM. The watch will attempt an additional reception at 5:00 AM if none of the previous attempts were successful. Auto-calibration only occurs when the watch is in Current Time Mode or World Time Mode.

Signal Reception Indicator

This indicator shows the strength of the received calibration signal. When the watch is positioned for optimal reception, the indicator will be fully displayed. Try to position the watch for successful signal reception whenever possible. It takes about 10 seconds for the watch to establish the signal reception strength shown on the indicator. The calibration indicator is present in all watch modes. If the calibration indicator is not displayed, signal reception is not occurring. Perform a manual calibration or check your watch settings.

Enabling/Disabling Auto-Calibration Signal

  1. In Current Time Mode, press and hold [Button A] until the transmitter indicator appears.
  2. Press [Button C] three times to enter the auto-calibration signal enable/disable setting.
  3. If your home city does not support auto-calibration, "- -" will appear on the display.
  4. Press [Button D] to enable ("ON") or disable ("OFF") the auto-calibration signal.
  5. Press [Button A] twice to finish.
