Volume Buttons: Short presses adjust the volume. During an incoming call, a press silences the ringer.

SIM and Memory Card Installation

The UMIDIGI G5 supports Nano-SIM cards and microSD cards for expanded storage.

Nano-SIM Card Installation:

Insert the Nano-SIM card with the chip facing down. Align the cut corner of the card with the slot on the tray. Use only standard Nano-SIM cards; do not use manually cut cards as this may damage the SIM slot or the phone. Avoid repeatedly inserting and removing the SIM card.

TF Card (microSD) Installation:

Insert the TF card with the metal contacts facing down. Align the cut edge of the card with the slot. Turn off the phone before inserting or removing the TF card. The TF card is not included and must be purchased separately.

SIM Management:

Navigate to Settings > SIM Card to select the primary SIM card. In Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Preferred network type, choose your preferred network (e.g., 4G/3G/2G or LTE).

Network Connectivity

WLAN (Wi-Fi) Connection:

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will appear. Select a network, enter the password if required, and tap Connect. For public networks, simply tap Connect. The status will indicate "Connected" when the connection is successful.

Bluetooth Connection:

Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Activate Bluetooth. Tap the Menu button and select "Refresh" to search for available Bluetooth devices. Tap a device to pair, then confirm the pairing in the pop-up. Once paired, you can transfer files. You can quickly toggle Bluetooth on/off by swiping down the status bar twice to access quick settings.

WLAN Hotspot:

Enable the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature in Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot. Configure a network name and password. Other devices can connect to your hotspot by searching for the network name and entering the password. Ensure your mobile data connection is active before sharing your network. Use this feature cautiously as it consumes your mobile data.

Camera and Dual SIM Features

Camera Operation:

Point the camera at your subject for auto-focus. You can also tap the screen to select a focus point. Tap the capture icon to take a photo. The camera supports various modes including video recording, beauty mode, and panorama.

Dual SIM Standby:

The UMIDIGI G5 supports dual SIM dual standby, meaning two SIM cards can be active simultaneously for receiving calls. However, only one SIM card can be used for making calls or using mobile data at any given time. When one SIM is active for calls, the other enters a standby state and cannot make or receive calls.
