The liquid level indicator shows the maximum fill levels for warming milk and preparing hot chocolate (including chocolate quantity), and the minimum level.
Safety Warnings
Important safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance:
- Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
- Ensure the power outlet is easily accessible for quick removal of the plug if necessary.
- Never pull the power cord to unplug the appliance; this can cause damage.

- The frothing disc can be a choking hazard; keep it away from children.
Connecting the Appliance
Ensure the mains voltage and frequency match the appliance's rating plate. Connect the appliance only to a properly installed, grounded socket with a minimum rating of 10A.

Getting Started
Before First Use
- Unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials and labels.
- Clean the motor base (1) with a damp cloth.

Assembly
- Place the jug (2) onto the motor base (1).
- Insert the whisk (3 or 3a) into the jug, aligning it with the designated pin.
- Attach the lid (4) to the jug and press down firmly.
Using the Appliance
General Advice
- The frothing result may depend on the quality of the ingredients used. For best results, use cold whole milk and pour it into the jug immediately after removing it from the refrigerator.
- Allow the appliance to cool down after one heating cycle before starting another.
- Never operate the appliance without liquid, as this can damage the motor.
- Always fill the jug between the MIN and MAX levels indicated.
Milk Frothing
- Remove the lid (4) and fill the jug (2) with cold milk, respecting the fill level markings.
- Replace the lid (4).
- Select the desired program by turning the knob (7) to the corresponding marking.
- Press the START/STOP button (6) to begin the cycle. The LED (8) will illuminate.
- The LED (8) will turn off, and an audible signal will sound upon cycle completion.
- The cycle can be interrupted at any time by pressing the START/STOP button (6).
- Remove the lid (4) by gripping the side tabs.
- Pour the frothed milk into a cup, using a spoon if necessary.
- It is recommended to add sugar or liquid sweeteners (e.g., honey, agave syrup) at the end of the cycle.
Hot Chocolate Preparation
- Remove the lid (4) and fill the jug (2) with the ingredients for hot chocolate, adhering to the fill level markings. Refer to Smeg's recipes for guidance.
- Select the appropriate program and follow the same steps as for milk frothing.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning. Never immerse the motor base (1) in water or any other liquid.
- Remove the whisk (3).
- Remove the jug (2) from the motor base.
- The whisk (3), lid (4), measuring cap (5), and jug (2) are dishwasher safe.
- Clean the motor base (1) with a damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring agents.

Recipes
Hot Chocolate
Ingredients: Whole milk, Pure chocolate flakes (90g)
Procedure: Fill the jug with milk, add chocolate flakes, close the lid, select the hot chocolate program (☕☕☕), press START/STOP, and wait for the program to finish.
Cappuccino
Ingredients: Whole milk, Coffee or strong coffee (80ml)
Procedure: Prepare coffee, fill the jug with milk, close the lid, select the warm milk with thick foam program (☕☕ with thick foam), press START/STOP, and wait for the program to finish. Pour the frothed milk over the coffee. Add sugar or syrup as desired.
Iced Espresso Macchiato
Ingredients: Whole milk, Coffee (80ml), Ice cubes (4)
Procedure: Distribute ice cubes in cups, prepare coffee and pour over ice cubes. Add sugar or syrup as desired. Fill the jug with milk, close the lid, select a cold milk program (with light or thick foam), press START/STOP, and wait for the program to finish. Pour the frothed milk into the cups with coffee and ice.
