2. Introduction
2.1 Product Overview
The RainPoint Mini Box Hub is a compact device that connects to your Wi-Fi network. It features:
- Power Indicator: Indicates the device's power status.
- WiFi Connecting Indicator: Shows the Wi-Fi connection status.
- Charging Port: For powering the device via USB.
- Operation Button: Used for pairing and mode switching.
2.2 Button and Light Introduction

- Hold the button for approximately 5 seconds to enter smart connection mode.
- Press the button once during smart connection mode to enter AP connection mode.

3. Connection and Installation
3.1 Download APP
To use the RainPoint Mini Box Hub, you need to download the RainPoint Smart+ app.
Download Options:
a. Search and download "RainPoint Smart+" on your mobile device's app store.

b. Scan the QR code to download the app (QR codes are excluded from this HTML output).
Create an account and log in:
Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to sign up for a new account or log in with an existing one to start matching devices.
3.1.2 Before Connection
To ensure your mini box hub connects to Wi-Fi, please meet the following requirements:
- Your mobile device must be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network before using the RainPoint Smart+ app. The hub operates on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
- Keep the hub powered on during the Wi-Fi connection process.
- ✔️ iOS Requirements: Mobile device with iOS 11.0 or higher, with cellular or Wi-Fi service.
- ✔️ Android Requirements: Mobile device with Android OS 6.0 or higher, with cellular or Wi-Fi service.
- Do not use public Wi-Fi networks.
- The hub and your mobile device should be within 10 feet (3 meters) during pairing for optimal results.
- If you need to change the working Wi-Fi network, press and hold the button on the hub to reset it and reconnect.
3.2 APP Connection
3.2.1 Smart WiFi Connection
Plug in the mini box hub near your router and follow the steps below to connect:
- On the app's Home page, tap the [Add Icon] or "Add Device" button.
- Select "HWG023WRF" from the list of devices.
- Select "Mini Box Hub", then enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Press and hold the Operation Button on the mini box hub for about 5 seconds until the connecting indicator blinks quickly.
- Select the checkbox on the app indicating all steps are completed and click "Next" to start searching for devices.
- The app will search for the device. Keep your phone and the device close to the Wi-Fi router.
- When the device is found, click the [Add Icon] to add it and edit the device name as desired.
- Congratulations! You have successfully added the device to your app.
Tips: If you cannot connect to the hub through the smart Wi-Fi connection mode, try the AP connection mode or contact customer support.

3.2.2 AP Connection
If the Smart WiFi Connection fails, you can use the AP Connection mode.
- Before searching, click "Switch Mode" in the upper right corner of the app to switch to AP connection.
- Press and hold the button on the hub for about 5 seconds until the connecting indicator quickly blinks. Then, short press the button again.
- When the Hub LED flashes slowly, tick the checkbox on the app and click "Next".
- Follow the wizard and click "Go Connecting" to connect your phone to the hub's hotspot (e.g., "HomGar_xxxx").
- Note: If your mobile device prompts that there is no signal and needs to switch Wi-Fi, do not switch. Keep the selected hotspot (HomGar_xxxx) connected.
- Back to the app and click "Next" to continue adding devices automatically.
3.3 APP Overview
3.3.1 APP Home Page
The RainPoint Smart+ app provides several management features:
- Home Management: Set home name, location, and other information to manage your home environment monitoring system.
- All Devices: Displays all added devices.
- Room Management: Shows a list of devices organized by room.
- Add Devices: Allows you to add Smart+ series devices to your smart home system.
- Home: The main app home page.
- Plan Page: Lists irrigation plans set on water timers. You can manually turn plans on/off and access a manual Rain Delay button.
- Info: Displays weather information and a list of optional devices.
- Me and Basic Settings: Manage your account, home settings, and other options, including unit format and notification settings.
After the hub and sub-devices are connected, their status will be displayed on the app's home page and the hub's device page. You can click device icons in the "All Devices" list or find them in the "Sub-devices" list on the hub's device page.
3.3.2 Device Page
The Device Page shows the status of a specific device (e.g., HWG023WRF). From here, you can:
- View device status.
- Add sub-devices.
- Access Device Settings.
3.3.3 Device Settings
In the device settings, you can view basic information about the mini box hub and configure default settings.
Tips: Timing setting is ONLY worked for precision clock products to calibrate time.
Available settings may include:
- Device Name
- Device ID
- Device Model No.
- MAC Address
- RSSI (Signal Strength)
- Firmware Version (with option to check for updates)
- RF Communication Channel
- Device Replacement
4. Trouble Shooting

5. Precautions
- Please ensure you use a 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi to connect to this product.
- Do not block the vent, insert fingers, or any objects, as this may cause equipment failure or other conditions.
- Do not use the product near gas, heaters, microwave ovens, and other devices that may cause interference.
- Under freezing temperatures, timers should be removed from the faucet and stored indoors to avoid potential freezing damage.
- Please clean the filter regularly and replace it if worn to prolong the timer's working life.
6. Warranty Policy
RainPoint provides a 1-year limited warranty on this product against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
