OPERATION
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The Backup Battery can be charged in two ways: via a powered USB device (like a laptop computer) or via a standard wall outlet. It is recommended to charge the Backup Battery before initial use and whenever the LOW BATTERY INDICATOR is flashing (indicating less than 20% power remaining).
To charge via USB device:
- Extend the RETRACTABLE USB CABLE by pulling gently on both ends of the cable simultaneously.
- Connect one end of the USB CABLE to the Backup Battery and the other end to your powered USB device.
- The POWER INDICATOR will illuminate red. When the Backup Battery reaches 20% charge, it will illuminate blue. A tall bar on the indicator signifies 100% power, while a shorter bar indicates partial power.
To charge via standard wall outlet:
- Extend the RETRACTABLE USB CABLE by pulling gently on both ends of the cable simultaneously.
- Connect one end of the USB CABLE to the Backup Battery and the other end to the AC ADAPTER.
- Plug the AC ADAPTER into a standard wall outlet.
- The POWER INDICATOR will illuminate red. When the Backup Battery reaches 20% charge, it will illuminate blue. A tall bar on the indicator signifies 100% power, while a shorter bar indicates partial power.
Notes on Charging:
- The battery will be fully charged after approximately 3.5 hours.
- The battery can be connected to your iPod/iPhone while it is also charging (refer to "Using the Battery" section).
- To retract the USB CABLE, pull gently on both ends of the cable and then release.
USING THE BATTERY
To charge your iPod/iPhone, plug the Backup Battery's CONNECTOR into your iPod/iPhone.
You can charge both the Backup Battery and your iPod/iPhone simultaneously. To achieve this, leave your iPod/iPhone connected to the Backup Battery while the Backup Battery itself is being charged as described above.
Notes on Usage:
- When using the Backup Battery with an iPod touch or iPod nano, the headphone jack may not be accessible.
- You cannot sync data to your computer via USB while simultaneously charging your iPod/iPhone and the Backup Battery.
