Introduction
The Kasa Smart Bulb is part of the Kasa smart home product family, which includes plugs, switches, and cameras. It allows users to adjust brightness, track energy consumption, set schedules and timers, and simulate sunrise for natural wake-ups. Lights can be grouped for easier control and custom scene creation.
Transform your home into a smart home with Kasa Smart. Control multiple smart home devices via the Kasa Smart app or use voice commands for convenience. Kasa Smart brings your home within reach, just a few taps away.
- No Hub Required: The Smart Light installs like a standard bulb. Download the Kasa Smart app, connect to Wi-Fi, and enjoy. No additional hub is needed.

Set Up Your Smart Bulb
Follow these steps to set up your smart bulb using the Kasa Smart app:
Step 1: Download Kasa
Get the Kasa Smart app from the [App Store icon] App Store or [Google Play icon] Google Play.
Step 2: Connect to Network
Connect your mobile device to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
Step 3: Add Devices
Tap the [plus icon] button in the Kasa app and select 'Device' to add your new Kasa smart bulb. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Main Device Control
After successful setup, the Kasa app's 'Devices' page allows you to add new devices, control multiple devices in groups, configure account settings, and more.
Devices Page
On the 'Devices' page, you can instantly turn the bulb on/off, adjust brightness, or change colors (for KL130B models).

Add a Group
From the 'Devices' page, tap [plus icon] > 'Group' to create a group for controlling multiple devices simultaneously.

Configure Kasa Settings
On the 'Devices' page, swipe right to access and configure your Kasa account settings or find more information about Kasa.

Configure Your Smart Bulb
From the 'Devices' page, tap a smart bulb to enter its specific page. Here you can adjust light temperature or color (KL130B only), set brightness, schedules, track energy usage, and configure other bulb settings. The following examples use the KL130B.
Power On/Off At One Tap
On the Smart Bulb page, you can quickly power your smart bulb on or off with a single button.

Adjust Brightness
Dim your smart bulb with a brightness range from 1% to 100%.

Presets and Recents
Tap [presets icon] to add presets and apply recently used settings to your smart bulb.

Add Schedules
Tap [schedule icon] to add schedules for your smart bulb, automating daily routines with On/Off actions.

Track Energy Usage
Tap [usage icon] to view and track the energy consumption of your smart bulb.

Device Settings
Tap [settings icon] to configure device settings and check device information, such as renaming the device or setting default states.

Create Scenes
A scene is a preset group of smart devices that can be programmed, customized, and activated simultaneously with a single button press from your smartphone or tablet. Scenes allow you to set your mood, activity, or automate actions for special occasions.
- Create New Scenes: On the 'Scenes' page, tap [plus icon] to create new scenes.
- Set Scenes: Choose what you want your bulb to do when a scene is activated.
- Edit Scenes: Tap a scene to activate it or tap the edit icon [edit icon] to modify the scene at any time.

Reset Your Smart Bulb
Two reset types are available: a soft reset for Wi-Fi settings only, and a factory reset that erases all custom settings and restores defaults.
Soft Reset
- Turn the light switch controlling the bulb to the OFF position.
- Flip the light switch ON and OFF 5 times (each duration around 1 second). Stop when the light is ON for the third time. Three blinks indicate a successful soft reset.
Factory Reset
Method 1:
- Turn the light switch controlling the bulb to the OFF position.
- Flip the light switch ON and OFF 10 times (each duration around 1 second). Stop when the light is ON for the fifth time. Three blinks indicate a successful factory reset.
Method 2:
On the Kasa app 'Devices' page, swipe left on the bulb and tap 'Delete'. Alternatively, on the Kasa app, tap the smart bulb and then tap [arrow icon] > 'Remove Device'.

Discover Kasa
Use the Kasa app to pair your Smart Bulb with Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant, or SmartThings for a hands-free experience. Kasa also helps manage your smart home by integrating with Nest to trigger actions based on your arrival or departure.
Launch the Kasa app and navigate to [plus icon] > 'Device' > 'WORKS WITH KASA' > 'See All' for detailed instructions on integration.
