Installing Your Lamp Dimmer
Step 1: Turn on the lamp
Turn on the lamp you want to control and unplug it.
Step 2: Connect the lamp(s)
Plug the lamp cord into either side of the Caséta Wireless plug-in lamp dimmer. If you want to control a second lamp, turn it on and plug it into the other side.
Step 3: Plug in the lamp dimmer
Plug the lamp dimmer into a wall outlet.

- For indoor use only.
- Operate between 32 °F (0 °C) and 104 °F (40 °C).
Using Your Controls
Plug-in Lamp Dimmer Controls
The plug-in lamp dimmer has the following controls: On, Off, Brighter, Darker.
Pico® Remote Control (Sold Separately)
The Pico® remote control features the following buttons: On, Off, Favorite, Brighter, Darker.
Pairing the Lamp Dimmer and Pico® Remote Control
Without a Smartphone or Tablet (Bridge Not Required)
- Step 1: Press and hold "Off" button on dimmer
Hold the "Off" button on the dimmer for 6 seconds until the LED starts blinking. - Step 2: Press and hold "Off" button on remote
Hold the "Off" button on the Pico remote for 6 seconds until the lights flash 3 times. Repeat these steps to pair other Pico® remote controls.
Changing the Favorite Light Level
On the Pico® Remote Control (Optional, Sold Separately)
You can use the round "Favorite" button on the Pico remote control to recall a favorite light level. To change the favorite level:
- Step 1: Press and hold "Off" button on dimmer
Hold the dimmer's "Off" button for 6 seconds until its LED blinks twice. - Step 2: Press and hold "Favorite" button on remote
Hold the Pico remote's "Favorite" button for 6 seconds until the plug-in lamp dimmer LED blinks twice. The new favorite level is now saved.
Using Your Caséta® Wireless Plug-in Lamp Dimmer with a Smartphone or Tablet
(Bridge Required, Sold Separately)
The Caséta Wireless plug-in lamp dimmer can be controlled from a smartphone when used with the Lutron® Smart Bridge™. If you are using the dimmer and remote control with the Lutron® Smart Bridge™, follow the instructions below.
Note: If you are using the dimmer and remote control with another manufacturer’s bridge, please refer to that manufacturer’s instructions for set-up.
- Step 1: Download the Lutron® App
Search for “Lutron Caseta” in your device’s app store and download the Lutron® app. - Step 2: Launch the Lutron® App
The Lutron® app will walk you through setting up your devices. - Step 3: Use the Lutron® App to complete all remaining steps
The app allows you to add devices (Pico® remotes, Dimmers, Shades), schedule your lights, and connect while away.
Troubleshooting
