Towbar Installation
- Identify Towbar mounting points.
- Clean chassis members around mounting points so they are free from any under seal / mastic.
- Using Item D with Item F fix Item A to the vehicle.
- Using Item E with Item G fix Items B to each end of Item A.
- Using Item D with Item F fix Items B to the vehicle.
- Using Item C bolt your desired ball bracket and wiring plate (Not supplied in this kit) to Item A.
- Fully tighten all fixings until Towbar is rigid, square, and secure.
Diagram Description
The diagram shows the Tow-Trust TVAUX1 towbar assembly. It features a main crossmember (Item A) and two handed side arms (Item B). The crossmember (A) is depicted with attachment points for the vehicle chassis, secured by bolts and washers identified as Item D (M14 x 45 bolts & S/P washers) and Item F (14 x 27 flat washers). The side arms (B) are shown attaching to each end of the crossmember (A) using bolts and washers identified as Item E (M12 x 45 bolts, Nyloc nuts, S/P washers) and Item G (12 x 25 flat washers). The side arms (B) also connect to the vehicle chassis using bolts and washers identified as Item D and Item F. A specific mounting point on the crossmember (A) is illustrated for attaching a ball bracket and wiring plate (not supplied in this kit), using bolts identified as Item C (M16 x 60 bolts & Nyloc nuts).
Notes
- Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9 is 130 Nm. (For other Torque Settings, please refer to notes overleaf.)
- Nose load limits and vehicle manufacturers' trailer/caravan weight limits must be observed.
